I need to replace the front brakes on my tdi quattro sport, but I want to upgrade at the same time.

I have used EBC greenstuff before now, and to be fair wasn't that impressed. I have also used Pagid fast road pads before, which are very grippy but they are are very dirty!

So what discs and pads are people running, sticking to the 288mm size? Other brands I would rate would be mintex or tar-ox, but have not used them, so would appreciate any comments from people who have used them.

Cheers
Mark

I know you said you wanted to stick to 288mm, but I have just gone up to 312mm TT/S3 discs and that made a big difference, (not quite in the same league as a brembo setup before anyone ponts this out,) but a fairly cheap and effect upgrade.

Are you using the spacers with your original calipers or are you using S3 calipers?

I have considered the 312mm upgrade, but I am working to a budget really. How much more are a decent set of 312mm discs (assuming I use my orginal calipers?

Cheers

discs can be bought for about 30 quid each and pads about the same.
You can keep callipers but will need carriers.

Even if I do go down the 312mm route, can anyone suggest a decent manufacturer fr uprated discs/pads?

I'm using my original calipers just the carriers from the S3. I'm currently using standard S3 disks which where £60 each from Audi and standard pads which I think are about £70. Not trid uprated disks and pads yet.

I'm also running the 17" Avus wheels from the S3, but I think they should fit behind 16's
