afternoon all

my cars in need of a service in 1500 miles and it has had full main dealer history up till now. just wondering if anyone can suggest a specialist in my area who could service it at decent cost or would it just be advisable to get it done at the dealers to keep up with main dealer history.

i would service it my self but its the stamp in the service book im most interested in
 
There is german auto care in pudsey. They only use genuine VW parts and the labour isnt too expensive either
 
also Chris Umpleby Cars Ltd in Bradford, he is an audi vw specialist too - I had mine serviced at Audi Bradford yesterday £159.00 for an oil and filter change (to be honest I just paid for the stamp to maintain my dealer history) but they did a free health check too and highlighted a few things that could do with changing(bushes, wipers etc) so I will go to my local mechanic and get work carried out for a fraction of their price
 
to be honest i think i'll take mine to Audi Bradford too. i'm in the same boat as you. i'm only really paying for the stamp but if i get a free health check too then i can just do anything they find myself.
 
The health check isn't really free, its part of the 'service' cost. Any good Indy will do this along with a road test etc as part of the service. Got mine done from Chris Umpleby as above, can't remember what he charged but was less than Audi prices.
 
as zaf said i really dont want to take it to Audi and would much rather prefer to take it to a specialist but with my car having full dealer history i really only want the stamp in the service book.

If you're prepared to make the drive over to Hull I can highly recommend Autotechnica. Any the owner is ex Audi Master Technician and he and his team do a brilliant job at a fair price. He's also won loads of Audi Driver awards every year which speaks for itself.
 
thanks for the heads up mate but hulls a bit far for me to go for a service.
