I haven't done a poll in a while, so I thought, may as well

So, what interior inlays have you got / ordered on your A3 / S3?

I've gone for the 'standard' S3 saloon - 'matt-brushed aluminium' but am seriously considering a change to the '3d design black' before the car goes into lock down.

I need pics to make up my mind ;)

Hey mate I got the black optic interior looks the nuts!!

Black inlays to complement the exterior black pack......

and all that on a Sepa Daytona Grey car ;)

Looking at those two pictures, I'm glad I'm getting silver. Piano Black looks great on TVs (and pianos! :p) but I just don't 'get' it in a car, to my mind it makes things look a bit plasticy and low rent. I had a Citroen DS3 hire car last week and the dash was swathed in the stuff, I prefer matt surfaces, they just look that bit classier to my eye.

Be warned that the seatbelt buckle when released, if not restrained can dent the door trim, which I have seen on the standard ali trim. Just remember to mention to passengers!!

I can vouch for this. Mine is going back in tomorrow to have the drivers side replaced.

Ha, along with my other passenger rules...I'll end up with an instruction book!
No eating.
No sitting on the bolsters.
No kicking the B&O's when you get out.
No touching the Nav display - it's NOT a touchscreen.
No slamming of doors.
NO application of make up!!!!!!

I think the aluminium breaks up the dark interior a bit, but the black looks okay too. Anyone know if it's actual aluminium and cold to the touch? Or just an aluminium looking material?

Undecided whether to go for the 3D design black inlays over the matt brushed aluminum ones?

My last A4 had the brushed aluminum inlays so I fancy a change. Just wondering whether the 3d black ones will make the interior too dark on a S3 saloon with black seats/headlining

BH I think the 3D Black Inlays would look nice. I always
loved black leather seats with black headlining, which I
have. I think the black inlays would add to the car.---------
Can never have enough black. Would definitely be a cool
Interior!

My current S3 has alu so I am going for black inlays, black headlining and black seats!! It's going to be a dark place but will look awesome!!

Yet to get my S3, I ordered the 3D black inlays to contrast against the lunar silver leather. Hope it looks OK!

Think it's pucka aluminium albeit very thin. It was on my 8P when I removed the door trims and replaced the interior handles for ones with ambient lighting.

I've gone for bright as I think it breaks up the interior up quite well - also a good match with the shiny chrome grille and outer door waist finishers. Probably would have gone for 3D black inlays if I'd had the black pack but the worry would be fingerprints which I think someone has already mentioned.

I've got the black inlays and quite often get comments about how 'premium' they look

I think it depends on the other packages/options you've gone for.

For my Daytona, with it's black pack, privacy glass, black/silver seats and headlining, and colour coded mirror caps, then brushed aluminium inlays would have been a nonsense - hence the black inlays. But, without the black pack and mirror caps etc then the brushed aluminium alloys might have made more sense. Consider it in the context of the complete package?

I went with the brushed aluminium, as I felt that with the black seats and roof lining, it broke the interior up a little.

I have similar rules for my cars and in the S3 it will be FULL LOCKDOWN. My friends and family think I'm mental :jester:

3D Black Inlays + Parade Red Interior for me!! Red + Black theme .....Should look pretty slick I think :thumbs up:

+1, plus black paint, black styling pack and carbon mirrors, so aluminium would of look out of place.

For me the brushed aluminium is a bit S-line for my liking. Piano black trim is usually a paid extra so I've gone for this, plus I've got silver leather so would like the contrast.

More pics of '3d design black' inlays required pleae

& I'm blaming @David83S3

I've gone with 3d black as my current S3 has the brushed aluminium and 3d is not available on most A3's

Can we get a picture from behind the front seats looking square on to the dash please. Wide angle lens or perhaps iPhone panorama? Like BH I was swayed by seeing the pictures earlier and need to make a decision this week.

My last few cars I've opted for piano black and I've had to pay extra. You can only get this option with the S3 so it make it a bit exclusive amongst A3's........

What's the difference between black optic option and 3d black option??
Same option. Some people call it different things

Correct Audi speak is - 3d design black ;)

Only inlay options are in the poll for the A3/S3 at top of the page

Email sent to dealer asking if I can change to the black trims. Fingers crossed.
