Hi all.
Still having problems with my 2001 a6 2.5tdi Quattro sport.
Just a recap... It started blowing fuse number 15 which from what I can tell power voltage meter and clock memory. I've checked the battery, everything reads as it should. The VAG com code comes up with
Address 17: Instruments Labels: 4B0-920-xxx-17.lbl
Part No: 4B0 920 981 B
Component: C5-KOMBIINSTR. VDO D12
Coding: 00460
Shop #: WSC 00001
VCID: 25410EECBF9C8736C81-5140
WAUZZZ4BZ1N131982 AUZ7Z0A1787595
1 Fault Found:
00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30
53-00 - Supply Voltage Too Low
When I turn off the engine, the rev counter, temp and fuel gauge freeze, staying on the positions they were on. When I turn on the ignition, the said gauges an rev counter start flickering until they reset. The voltmeter takes its time to reach 14 v, but now won't work because of the blown fuse. I've taken the cluster out, replaced the fuse and started the car (only runs for a few seconds because of immobiliser) and no blown fuse. Could there be anything else linked to the cluster that could cause the fuse to blow constant? On top of this, all red centre console and ambient lights don't work. Checked all fuses, all ok apart from number 15 which keeps blowing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
cheers

Should be a label on the fuse box panel?
15 is a 10A for all the instruments and the climate control....think on some its also seat memory and mirrors
14 is for the interior lights.....

Don't suppose you have an aftermarket radio fitted? People missing the point and looking for a live do daft things...

Hi. Thanks for the reply. The car is 100% standard, no after market stereos. Silly thing is, even though fuse 15 is not in, climate still works?...

Will review the diagrams tonigjht. They always find volts from somewhere.

Fuse 15 does a whole load of stuff including the aerials, CD etc interesting horn in also on 14?
So here goes most of the S15 fuse links

Hi , this drove me nuts on my allroad , eventually when using an ammeter instead of a fuse there was a wisp of smoke from under the instrument cluster and when I checked only the backlights aren't working to the air con panel , ashtray and height level switches ! I'll live with that !! The main issue was I couldn't use the ride height control and the dashboard warning lights kept showing battery symbol . All OK now apart from the aforementioned backlights . You could try a bigger fuse, not recommended , depends on car value !
