Hi guys has anybody used a tuning box? are they any good? and what would people recommend if any?

Don't buy a cheap £60 one. Fitted one to a Mini Cooper D and was quicker but smoked a bit which was not good as it had a dpf and should not smoke. Cheap ones just pump more fuel in. Then I had a guy come round and mapped for £150 and although the same sort of power did not smoke. He said 140bhp Audi's respond well to a remap and you don't have stupid dpf to worry about. I cannot comment on more advance boxes but benefits are quick removal. Just don't buy a cheap one!

Yeah you hear horror stories about tuning boxes. Another vote for remap (at reputable garage)
 
My friend had one on a Focus and it was constantly in limp mode... my car's occasionally in limp mode too but that's unrelated and was happening before any mods, if anything with all the modifications I've done the car is healthier now than it was ten years ago.
 
I'm gonna have a remap+de cat and egr bypass fitted plus a piper cross panel filter fitted I should see decent performance

Remap. I used superchips bluefin. Very easy plug and play :) although a tad expensive at £366 but well worth it
