My A3 8P Convenience Comfort module is busted and I'm looking to replace it.

My original module code is 8P0959433J and all I could find was 8P0959433E.

Can anyone tell me if it's compatible and if it would work?

You need a J as the E may have lesser features & thus possibly cause you issues due to it having less bytes to program.

How can I find out what features these last letters have?

Because, as I come to understand it, the E might work for my car

i can't answer your question specifically but if anything you should replace the module like for like or upgrade it to one with more features. downgrading makes no sense at all, you may run the risk of things on your car not working if the E module can't support them

The thing is I can't find a second hand J module, only E and a new one, from the dealer, is a lot more expensive...

iv got one with that part number mate

Thanks for your replies guys.

I have changed the convenient control module but still not working.
On vag com it says no communication.
Now I am lost I don't know what it could be.

Thanks for your help.

The you need to check power to the module & also the canbus wiring for any voltage.

If you're in the UK & need someone to resolve the issues on site, please send a PM.
