ok guys/girls,
I am about to take delivery of my gorgeous new A4 B8 2.7TDI Multitronic. (First Audi)

so I am wondering is there any cheapish ways of stealing an extra few BHP or just making the power delivery smoother?
I have read of the miltek exhausts etc but my budget is tight so think cheap but cheerful lol
don't want a remap either as its got high mileage and don't want to stress the G/Box etc

thanks
PB

So you've not even driven it yet but you've decided it needs more power. Why didn't you just buy a more powerful one? If you're struggling with power in a 2.7 TDI then I suggest you stop towing small bungalows around.

LOL i have driven it and the power is great (187bhp). but always room for more. just talking air filters etc
Do people still put K&N filters on these days???

Anything you do to increase the power will stress the transmission more. An exhaust will make little difference in performance for a lot of money.
You could fit a cheap tuning box and run it on a low setting.
When I bought my 3.0 TDI it had one of these boxes already fitted. I picked it up when scanning the car with Vag-com. I ran it for a few months before getting the car mapped.
I wouldn't recommend running it on the highest setting especially with a high mileage multitronic gearbox. But on the lower settings it will produce a noticeable improvement.

I would check to see when the gearbox oil was last changed on the box as well and get it changed if needed.

Karl.

It will have the same air filter as mine and I run a standard air filter and it's quite happy over 300bhp.

Thanks Karl,
the place I am buying it from have said they will change the box oil along with a full service and MOT but how can i check that its actually been done?
Not that I don't trust used car salesmen lol :indecisiveness:
