Revo Intake Special Offer 2.0tfsi

Confuses the hell out of me lol mine states 197 bhp TSFI, But it maybe a TSI in disguise heck we will just call it a "6 litre V8 QWERTY " :racer:

Just a quick thank you to Pat, little problem with incorrect intake being sent out (Blame Audi hey Pat) he personally came out this evening and swapped it for me, dodgy box swap at night at the side of the road lol, had a bit of a gossip and always nice to put a face to people on here.

Cheers Pat

Hi mate. Your car's a TSI like mine and i was wondering: have you fitted your intake yet and, if so, did the heat shield go on ok? Have just spent 3 hours wrestling with mine and there's no way the shield is going to fit. The front of the shield fouls the front panel of the car. The only way it will fit is if I cut 2 inches off the shield. Also, the Revo top pipe doesn't fit into the top of the turbo. I've given up in frustration, have had to put all the original parts back and am in the dog house with the missus because I spent so long trying to do it!

Got my local garage to fit it and no it wasn't straight forward, they had to modify certain bits, but the shield did fit ok, if I was you try talking to Pat @ lvsracing as there was some confusion regarding type of engine (TFSI and TSI) even though mine is a TFSI the kit I needed was for a TSI......confused me lol

You and I have the same engine and after some confusion at the time of ordering I was sent the correct intake. But even though it's a TSI kit i can't see how it will fit without modification. Have left a message with Pat and am waiting to hear back to see what he can do to help.

It is indeed the one in the link - the TSI one. There's no way the shield is going to fit, though. The metal at the front of the shield is too high, making it impossible to get the front screw hole to line up to the air-scoop torx screw. The shield is also too deep (top to bottom) which means that the underside is resting on whatever it is that is underneath. That fact then means it's impossible to secure the long thin support (from the bottom right of the shield) to the retaining bolt also holding the battery cradle in place.

Could my kit possibly contain the wrong shield..?

Yea i think i ran into all of those problems too, try securing down the rear side stuff first, the one which goes by the battery and the other one. Don't worry about the airscoop one and see if it looks right. unfortunately my car is currently sorn'd at my parents house so i can't get any pictures.

Thanks for the info. Anecdotally, it sounds like all the TSI guys I hear from are having fitment issues with this kit. Not something I'd expect given the price of this kit, if I'm being frank.:sadlike:

@Jet2004uk @sliced
So have been liaising today with Pat who's been a star as always. I sent him an explanation of the problem along with some pics of the issue I was having. John also kindly let me forward to Pat a copy of a pic of his heat shield too. Pat's forwarded all of this to Revo who, for their part, have now accepted that their TSI kit doesn't fit the A3 without modification. My understanding is that Revo will be stopping advertising the kit as being for anything other than the Scirocco and Golf. Given I had gone ahead and modified my heat shield I'm not sure where I stand with regards to being able to return the item, so Pat's currently discussing this with Revo. He's a good lad!

Sorry to @LVS Racing for (a) all the agro in this and (b) hijacking this thread. Can't fault their customer service!

Thanks for letting us know! I bought mine used off another user on this forum, so the heat shield might have been modified already
