New 2015 RS3!!!

I'm not convinced with this new rs3 maybe it's the Sportback bodyshell, I've never been a fan of sportbacks, maybe if it was in 3 door form or saloon it would be a different story. However in saying that I still wouldn't mind a run in a de restricted version :)

I wonder when this insane need for more and more horsepower will end ?
You can't use/need that sort of power on public roads.

With the heaver traffic on modern roads you clearly need more power to overtake in smaller gaps... ;)

Not a fan ..... arches don't look flared and not the usual rs front bumper .. wheels look like they belong on a s line ....I actally prefer the look of s3 8v to this

I like it and it will grow on a lot of you that are not a fan just now hopefully !

on reflection i shall hold off on making my mind up until i have driven one

i like the idea of a drift mode :)

That makes good sense Dave and is probably what I will do too......but at the same time....?

With my first RS3 I had never driven one before when I ordered.

Yes I had an S3 BE all Revo'd and TBE'd and stuff, and then an A5 BE Coupe 3.0tdi that wasn't too far behind, but when I collected my beloved RS3 baby from Essex Audi one fine Saturday in April 2012 and she had the starting letters "EJ" on her plate i knew she was the one for me. I had found my perfect partner!

And like most first and perfect loves it took me a while to appreciate how good she was - reason being i wanted to respect her 1k mile request but at the same time i wanted to hammer the life out of her! So you can imagine my frustration as i took her home to ma hoose in Scotland.....like a man possesed, the temptation to test her 'DSG' box in S mode was unbearable! But when she was finally willing, boy did she encourage me to do things I didn't think I could do, so she was well worth the wait.

So to contradict my first sentence I feel I am possibly already smitten no matter what she looks like in the flesh.

Sooooo, as long as I can afford her I think I'm already sold.

But like 45bvt says, if she is more thike £16k-£18k and not between £20k-£25k then maybe she's not the one for me.

are you a 70 yo woman??? hand your man card in at the front desk please

more power is always good, i had no problems using all of the 550bhp of the RS6 on every trip, even if it resulted in spinning all 4 wheels on corners :)

we all know the 5 pot will run 400bhp with no problems and that its only marketing that holds it back :(

I guarantee this will be a £50k car by the time you tick a few boxes. Personally I would tick all of them.

Thank you. Erm, who's Sandra?? By the way, if anyone out there fancies the 'quattro' graphics that are an S1 option - fitted ahead of the rear wheels or on the rear doors if we're talking Sportback - they're available now from all good Audi Centres priced at £35 ish for the pair. A bargain. Especially by Audi standards.

Hi Manbat just adding the qrs3 to the q3 section...

Blimey, that's speedy. Thanks again. Won't take it personally that the RS Q3 wasn't regarded as a proper Audi...

The SQ5 didn't exist on here when I got one either :)

Be interested to see how you get on with the baby version. I never got it personally, it seemed all the worst bits of an SUV whereas the SQ5 was all the best bits (no offence). The 5-pot is wicked tho!

Been getting on famously for 9 months, or so, now. Thought about the SQ5. As well as others from other brands I won't mention. But it was the 5-pot. Petrol fueled. And its noise.. And its RSness. Won't bore you with stories of my youth. Ok, then, briefly. My father had several 5 cylinder Audis, including a 200. The first one. And I had pix of the ur quattro on my bedroom wall. Stays with you. I work with the automotive media, most of whom (EVO excluded) deride the RS Q3. But it does me. Very well. Apart from the fuel consumption. Hence the recent addition of an A3.

If the MKII RS3, looks anything like the Club-Sport, I would have a very, very hard time not buying one.

So, the NEW RS3 Sportback is reviewed in today's Autocar by Nic Hackett - and its BLUE!

Now Nic is obviously someone who just wants to go sideways and likes to compares himself with Ari Virtanen, tsk!

Me, I'm a public road user. I want a car that does what I want it to in all conditions: dry, wet, ice, snow, etc. and for me the RS3 does that in abundance. I just love the RS3 (ok, so I like the RS7, but wouldn't swap my RS3 for and RS: don't ask...)

I love acceleration, and anonymity, and BLUEY does it for me; it'll also carry 4-people comfortably.

2-years ago another nameless Autocar professional scribe was extolling the virtues of the BMW M135i (over the Audi RS3) and promptly stuffed both offside rims tyres; and reported in lower case at the bottom of the report, tsk.

In all the years I've been driving Lotus cars I've never been with anyone wanting to hang the ar*e end of his car out on public roads. Most if any were not capable, anyway.

This sort of driving evaluation for Joe Public is stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The RS3 is a fabulously safe motor car; for me most probably the most complete all-weather useable car I've ever owned. Ok, ok, I've just purchased an Audi A2 - diesel! But it does put the RS3 into perspective as a truly fabulous motor car.

On public roads, day to day driving, you'll need to convince me there's a difference. On a track maybe, but it'll need a professional to demonstrate.

Sorry! But sunshine, a glass of wine, and a nonsense (stupid) report from a professional motoring scribe that doesn't even own the bl**dy car he's reviewing gets to me, sometimes...

For any and ALL purchasing the new RS3, enjoy!

But be safe out there on public roads.

The NEW Audi RS3 is going to be a fabulous motor car, as was the last...

I'd rate the opinion of most motoring journalists way ahead of the majority of enthusiasts. Especially since it's cars they don't own, so have no vested interest in justifying their purchase. They also drive dozens and dozens of new cars every year so have a much broader frame of reference. And yeah sure some cars need to be at the top 5-10% of their ability to be shown up but that doesn't mean it's an irrelevant test. An RS3 and A3 Quattro are 99% the same day to day, so if that's all you really care about how do you justify the extra outlay? It's because the hooligan in you wants a car that is comfortable going at an elevated rate, one that stays composed and controllable beyond the limit of a 'standard' road car. More importantly, the RS3 tests have only been done on snow so far so any useful daily driver comments would be at best a guess on the reviewer's part.

Hard to work out if super sports seats (as I have in my S3) are standard on the new RS3? I know carbon backed buckets are an option, but I don't fancy having to spend more money for those. I just want the same seats as in my S3, not the standard sports seat, which I foud a little unsupportive when cornering - hence going for the SSS in my current car. Anyone know the answer to that? The dealer can't tell me yet. Planning to order a new RS3 in June this year :)
