Adaptive headlights

For a few days after getting my S3 I didn't realise that it has adaptive lights. Nice feature, but takes a little getting used to and I image not cheap to fix if it breaks.

Anyone know if this was fitted as standard or an option? If an option, what was the approximate cost?

Always was an option mate, one I've also fitted for people :)

I never realised that it was until my headlights developed a life of their own and were effectively preempting my movements. I did have a ghost in the machine moment until I realised what was happening :)
 
I only realised mine had this option a couple of weeks after I had bought it too! It's flipping great!
 
Yeah, before having this feature on my other cars, I thought that it is just another gimmic. One thing is for sure - the head lights on the facelift 8P are 1000 times better than on the 8L. I could not beleive how bad 8L headlights were.
