Rear wiper constantly switched on

The wiper on my avant recently decided to activate itself and now fails to stop. The stalk has no effect at controlling the wiper and it starts moving as soon as key switches to ignition. And you guessed it.....it only stops when I take the key out? Any help or advice?

Alright mate hows the little one?

My first point of call would be to take the boot trim off to see if water has leaked in/on to the motor as the water pipe tends to split where it meats the motor.

Mine did this and I was very lucky it didn't catch fire! The motor had got wet from the broken brass pipe and it drew so much current it had burnt and melted with plastic plug and wiring! The 30amp fuse DIDN'T blow.

Remove the four screws (torx) and yank the trim down and unplug it.
