OBD II WiFi and iPhone or Android

Hi to all, have been checking on ebay and came across this

OBD II 2 CAN BUS CAR AUTO CHECK ENGINE COMPUTER SCANNER SCAN FOR IPAD IPHONE IOS

Has anyone tried it out ? Does it work ?, anyway I ordered it but mail is slow here in my country so not expecting it till end January.
Downloaded also on iphone app: dash cmd, and im hoping itll work or else by by 70 usd for all.

Hi, I bought one same as that a while back, it does work with the iphone/ android apps although I cant say I ever used it much. It really depends on what you want from your software. Another option would be to buy a cheap OBD2 cable and download VCDS lite onto your laptop or purchase a genuine Ross Tech cable for the full version of VCDS.
The phone apps do have some good features and you can scan and reset fault codes easily.

How accurate is it regarding boost, torque, power,intake temps in real time driving? Have you checked.
OBD II cable and software, I do have them, just wanted something on the go, phone is always in the pocket, no need to bring out the laptop if it isnt realy needed.

Yeah that was why I bought it aswell, not used it in a long time tho but I dont remember AIT or boost pressure being available on the sofware I used, if it is now it will be taken directly from ecu via map sensor so would be accurate. The torque and power would be calculated depending on maf reading I presume

Don't know how it is calculated, probably from maf but the application dash comand seems to be ok, check it on the AppStore, also the reviews not so bad.

I still have it on my phone, just tried to use it but just crashes, probably needs updating lol

Updating is free, problem is if doesn't work as good as we want it to we lose interest, suppose that's what's happened, not a good thing for me as my hopes were high. Thanks mate.

Yes I have this for my car and it works well.

I use the dashcmd app on my iphone. It's comes most in handy when my engine management light comes on (usually due to a solenoid I have not finished off yet), so I can read and clear errors on the move, and the wireless tool fits nicely in the door pocket, meaning I am not restricted to only logging on my laptop which isn't exactly easy to carry about all the time in a stripped out car.

You can customise it to read all sorts of things, coolant temp, engine temp, boost, battery volt, performance figures like 0-60 etc,, custom gauges etc and lots more.

For the money, it has definitely been worth it. What ever you do though, don't leave it plugged in or it drains the battery lol, as I found out.

How does it fit in the door pocket, I thought it goes in the OBD

lol sorry, it does plug into the OBD port, I just meant when I had finished with it and unplugged, it fits nicely into the door pocket

You had me worried for a sec there. I was thinking of extension wires that I had missed during the buy.

So this will work on any car with an OBD II ? If I'm lucky will be able to use it on my other car to.

There is no wire, just the canbus check the link in the first post, that connects to the phone via wifi.

Yes any OBDII car (although I have only tested on VAG cars).

Do you by any means have a photo of the can bus plugged in the OBD, how long is it? Will your leg hit it while driving?

Depends where your OBD port is. Mine is loose as I run a stripped car, so mine sits by the gear stick, some others sit underneath the dash where the pedals are

its about 8-10cm, quite small and not intrusive, so you should be ok.
