Soon to be a new S3 owner,question best options?

Right my S3 will be in Sepang Bue with the S-Tronic gearbox,Super sport seats,Tech Pack Nav,Privacy Glass,Power Folding Door Mirrors,Led interior Lighting,Led Headlights

Question 1.Does some of the led headlight package incorporate some of the Comfort package?
l have never used Auto lights/wipers on any of my cars=

I would rather have rear parking sensors + rear camera.

Question 2.What colour in Kelvins are the Led Headlights? 4000K?5000k Are they superior to the Naff looking Led headlights on SEATS...l hope so?

Question 3. All photos l have seen of nearly/ex demo AUDI A3/S3 leather seats the drivers off side bolster looks nearly destroyed????

Question 4. Have l missed out any important must have option?

I know my son has it his A5 Black Edition demonstrator, it sounds amazing....truly it is, but i couldnt justify that amount as l aint into music at all...how good is the standard sound system? should l get the Audi one?

Whats wrong with SB..?l have had 2 white cars in row a white RCZ and a white ST3.

Given that the OP is new to the forum the non-serious suggestions based on long standing forum jokes (Sepang Blue, mono pur etc.) are only going to confuse.
The Comfort Pack is good value however I like the auto lights and auto wipers. If you do not like/use them perhaps jassyo06 it is not for you however be aware that as speced you do not have cruise control either. I would read up (in this forum) on both the B&O (some users have buzzing noises) and the LED lights (some find over-priced and underwhelming). I have the *** and find it more than good enough, and the adaptive (xenon) headlights, which are excellent. My other must have would be the lumber support but I think you get that as standard on the SS seats.

LED headlights initially were a disappointment for me OP after spending £795 on them. Now after using them much more with these shorter days and longer nights I am totally bowled over by them. They do project up the road much better than Xenons and pick out considerable detail which if you drive down country roads is essential. They also look really cool. Other options I have and can recommend are:-

High beam assist - Increases the functionality of the LED headlights. Cheap option too and works really well.

Hill hold assist - Lots of debate on this option, but I have found it very useful and again, a cheap option.

Alacantra seats - You noted about the leather. If you want to avoid the wear issues that leather seats do seem to get after not too much bum time then I would suggest getting this option. Seems to wear much better.

Audi Sound System (***) - I thought the standard system was really poor so this option was a must for me. B&O would have been nice but found this system excellent value for the performance it gives.

Mono.pur - I like this option a lot and all jokes aside I personally think it adds another element to the premium feel of the cabin.

Yeah i aint quite sure about the LED headlights???,***... thanks all its on my list now.

The more i think/configurate the car the more difficult it becomes,could just do away with the auto box and get all the options l want within reason

that is a serious point re the gearbox, as I only got the s-tronic box because the majority of my driving is in stop/start queues and I also got the adaptive cruise control which pairs up with the auto really nicely - right down to 0mph stop/start etc. The car just drives itself along.

If i didn't have either (a) the commute I do or (b) adaptive cruise, i would have had a manual.

If you can do without dont get it my list has grew and grew.from sd nav to tech pk nav. People say hill assist is a must but do you need it on a automatic?

My option list has became longer and longer and I could do with dropping LED lights and s-tronic to get back on budget but I've built my ideal car and would come to regret doing that so I'll stick with my config.

I'm told the s-tronic has higher residuals so at least you'll get some back when the time comes also if going the PCP route it'll make the final payment higher so the monthly payment won't be much higher than not having it.

l am getting a good deal 10.5% discount and £16k for my nearly 2 year old ST3= cost me £26k,Yeah its a PCP deal my son is the salesman...lol,yes your correct the S-Tronic commands higher residuals,as does the Sportsback S3

Well l had a good long think about the optional extras....??? and my car has been ordered with one expensive option deletion and some less expensive option additions.

My car is a S3 Sportsback,S-Tronic in Sepang Blue.
1.Privacy Glass.
2.Chrome roof rails
3.Power Folding Door Mirror..
4.Rear reversing Sensors
5.Reversing Camera
6.Auto dimming rear view mirror
7.Led Headlight Package
8.lnterior led ambient lighting
9.***..lol
10 High Beam assist...
11.Tech Pack

l had to be sensible and add the numbers above 4.5.6.9.10 on to my list...Instead of Supersport seats ****...
There was a 3 doors S3 In Sepang Blue with Lunar silver/Black headling in the Showroom yesterday....l really liked it thought it went well with the exterior....had 3 cars in a row with dark grey leather...so it will be a refreshing change to have it in this colour...its only me thats ever in the car and i have a standing order with Furniture Clinic Products.....lol

I've pretty much went stock to be honest. Other than Sepang blue paint! Considering *** and privacy glass but all depends on whether or not the changes could be made. I'm only 22 so this is a huge step up for me as it is. Cannot wait!

Hey l would have specced the exact same as you,but in my car just now has ST3 focus,it has a terrible amount toys £40k+ on audi s3 and l just couldnt do without some of them.

Awesome spec jassyo06 that's going to be a great motor !

We seem to be in the minority with not going with the Supersports seats as I prefer stock and will have my lad in the back and not wishing to block out too much of his view. One thing I picked up on here was to spec the electric lumbar support - someone please correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that you don't get any lumbar adjustment on stock seats unless this option is ticked ?? Something you may miss from the ST.

If you have now deleted the Super Sports seats, I would highly recommend you add the electric lumbar support (approx £150). It didn't come on mine (was supposed to), and I'd say its an absolute must now, whilst the seats are comfy, after about 150 miles of driving, you do notice it missing. Standard seats don't have it (even a manual version)

I phoned my son today to ask if i could delete Led headlamps,high beam assist in lieu of supersports seats,adaptive headllamps,he wasnt happy lol, but it worked out i would need the comfort package aswell a to keep what i had with Led package,then the cost of SS seats and adaptive xenons,l just thought the price of this car is just getting silly...... Anchors on it stays as it is.

So i am content with what i have very happy indeed,but what i will say is if the 19" alloys where only £995 and the So named Pan roof was a genuine Panoramic roof then they would be on my options list Now but sadly the 19" wheels cost nearly £2000 and the Pan roof is just a sunroof

My 19's are only costing £995... have they gone up in the last few days? Also I am thinking of cancelling my pan roof as it is not much bigger than a standard old skool sunroof.

On the Sportback 19's are £995 but you must have mag ride at another £995. Mag ride is standard on the saloon with 19s a £0 cost option.

Yeah Rob you a correct 19"s are only available in conjuction with Audi Manetic Ride,beside that l dont like the one's they make available as a option,much prefer the standard 19"s on the Saloon S3.

Never seen an SB with 19s on from the factory before so yours may well be the first. Could be a good compromise if you don't use sat nav too much or the other features. For me it wasn't just about the sat nav but the bigger higher resolution screen once I saw the discovery pro screen in a Golf it made the smaller screen in my Leon look ridiculous so the high tech pack was always on the table for me. I've gone mag ride to package protect for 19s but defo would have had the 19 inch 5 star twin spokes if they were available (same style as standard S3 wheel but on option on the saloon in 19 inch) as that would have been an awesome combo in my eyes quite stealthy too.

Hi Rob,totally agree with you regarding the style of the 19"s,l will find out on Monday whats to be done, my son may "possibly" have to re-order a car,and put my first order into stock,it was due to be built in 3 weeks? l am a big fan of large screen's got a 65" 4k in my bedroom...lol. Rob but what benefits does the larger screen have over the smaller screen,my son has a new A5 Black edition which has a large screen but the resolution aint the best, especially the reversing camera,is the screen in the S3 better?

Yikes the way this car options thing is going i may aswell order a Saloon,l have got to keep this car car for 3 years might aswell get it right?but Audi are devious buggers with optional extras actually...rip off merchants....."You have to combine such and such with this "should be standard" option with this other other optional extra"

It's also in lieu of becoming a born again biker and prob a mid life crisis car thrown in for good measure but I've always had sporty hatches but this one should be the bees knees I hope.

It's BW6 so around the middle of March or so I'm told. Think we'll have them both around about the same time.
