As per title selling my car in a month or so but wasn't sure on vslue, so wanted input from people with experience.

A4 1.8 tqs saloon, 105,000 miles oil changed every 6000 miles, usual age related stone chips etc,DIS is pixelated but still readable, has the usual boot trim above number plate Corrosion, in brilliant yellow

Thd decat
Front mount
Miltek cat back matted to rs4 back box
Remap 215bhp with approx 250 ftlb
Scrol sp51 turbo,
Interior is good except one fag burn on rear bench seat by previous owner,
Had the abs ecu repaired a few years ago,

Obviously this is not a for sale thread as I will list when i'm ready to sell

It's quite hard to suggest a price tbh. The majority of the mods listed above may mean something to the majority of 'us' and therefore can be appreciated but from experience when you start modding a car it vastly reduces your audience of potential buyers if and when you decide to sell.

Speaking for just myself, if I was in the market to buy another b5 or any performance car for that matter I'd be looking for one that hadn't been played with just because it makes you think it's had a reasonably easy life, cars with giant turbos and a thousand bhp haven't exactly been used for a Sunday bimble...? That's not to say high performance cars don't get well looked after, there's plenty on here as good examples, as I'm sure yours is too.

Hoping this doesn't offend you, I'd expect you to fetch anywhere between £1600 - £1800, given that standard TQS's go for around £1200 - £1400, from what I've seen on Autotrader and eBay. Some good low mileage original examples can fetch around the £2,000 mark.

That's higher than I'd have thought as its still a 15 year old car, I know mods are generally done for owners benefit and don't really add value. I did see a few for 2k on eBay but thought they were a bit hopeful, thanks for the reply

you don't really want to be looking at the ones for sale
you need to look at the ones that have sold.

as above mods can and do de value and make cars harder to sell.

No worries mate, that's just my opinion and I'm sure others on here will have slightly different ones...?

I guess a lot depends on your circumstances and whether you're looking to sell quickly etc. If you hold out you might get closer to the £1800 if your after a quick sale to help fund your new purchase then it could be less than £1600.

To perhaps gauge the market better it may pay to monitor how much current for sale TQS's sell for. This will give you better indication on market value and you can pitch your car at a competitive price?

It's just spare cash when I eventually sell, I'll keep an eye on current ones and see what they sell or don't sell for

My dad recently bought an Avant on ebay for 800quid, which was a bit chavved up (stupid wheels and a silly exhaust) and in need of the usual TLC.

I payed 1650 for my standard 77000 miles tqs, wouldn't go near one that had been remapped by someone else personally but having said that id say 1500- 2000 if i was selling yours.

ive seen a few asking 1500 for 150 k motors but i dont think they ever get that price but you can always come down in price but you cant go back up .

whoops, i just only read the spec didnt look at the pic yellow !imo it gonna be a lot harder to get rid of than silver/black one

A mate of mine just paid 1.5k for a 150k mile Noggy TQS in Northern Ireland a few weeks ago

^^ to elaborate on this, it was recent engine rebuild (with photos and receipts, recon turbo etc.) full documented service history, ex demo car, with a few extras, by all means not mint, but generally a good honest, well minded car, and probably give a bit over the odds, because I fell in love with the colour upon viewing it.

Erm, tried to leave my post vague as to not give it away but ok

cars are pricey in ni sometimes as it a smaller market. at 1 point you could take mk1 golf from england to ni and get about 1500 more than in england

Yeah I think the colour may not be to everyone's taste, but I like it and haven't seen another one the same colour, I'm not unrealistic in its value as it is an old car and not everyone has as much love for them as us on here. But it is a nice car with the half leather and other tqs refinements so hope I'll get a reasonable price

It is different as the more common one is the imola, wish I could keep it and spend some proper money on it but been there and done that and the wife won't allow me to spend what id like on it to get it like new, last time it was 15k on a car I sold for 7k. now the sensible newer car calls. I suppose yellow is a bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it

I'd want 1,400-1,600 for my tqs on 140k in noggy blue. Again it's not perfect but its decent and until about a minute ago I hadn't seen anyone else with a tqs in noggy.

The yellow is marmite but will very much appeal to some.

Likewise! The seller didn't exactly refer to it as Nogaro blue, I actually went a bit slack jawed when inspecting the car and the paint code and all the door shuts etc was correct and indeed factory! :D

ive seen 3 tqs this year for 800ish with 140-150k

Haven't the time or space to break really, thanks for all the input guys atleast I know roughly what to put it up for now

Ha ha, I knew what I was getting as I bought the car off a mate. Post some pics of yours in the pics thread at the top of this section if you haven't already :)

its funny how people differ with colour choice i think the noggy blue 1's are horrible

To each their own mate, its good that people are all different :)

I feel these cars need a special colour or to be really clean else they look quite dated now :(
