where to source GKN outer rear S3 CV joints?

done a quick search online and GSF sell them but they dont have in stock, any ideas?

Or any suggestions for any other good makes of them, these are being used on my 4wd mk2 golf build and they will need machining down a little to accept an ABS ring so if I'm going to the expense of new outer cv's and the machining costs i thought i would be better off buying decent cv's that should last longer than some cheap ones
 
Have you given GSF a call? They may well be able to get it in for you pretty quickly.
 
not yet mate, they wouldn't of been open when i looked online last night, cheers
 
Ah, fair point. I've found they're pretty good at getting stuff in to order, so you might have some luck. Interesting that they need machining to fit an ABS ring, are you not using S3 rear hubs?
 
no, I'm using mk3 vr6 syncro trailing arms with mk3 vr6 front hubs, the abs sensor on the trailing arms supports a ring on the cv rather than the ring on the actual hub as on the s3/4motion etc
 
GSF dont stock them or any other premium outer rear cv's, VW main dealer (thought they would be cheaper than Audi) want - wait for it over £400 for a pair of outer cv's

golf 1.4 and 1.6 front outer cv's are the same as S3 rear outers, and eurocarparts do GKN lobro ones at £61 each
 
Result! good old vag parts bin.
 
exactly, they are so lazy but its good that they are
 
whilst the splines are the same in and out the main part of the body is smaller ( so the boot part )

however Eurocarparts after a call can get the rear GKN lobro cvs they just dont list them on their website
