My new A3 collection Tuesday!!

So I managed to go in today and cough up the remaining amount for my car, and am pleased that it'll be ready for Tuesday at 3pm!

Unfortunately I couldn't go into the compound as it was a Saturday, but I did actually walk over and the gate was wide open for any man and his dog to walk into, I did want to actually but my girlfriend said I shouldn't, as i'm probably not allowed - to which my reply was well why have the gate wide open then.

Anyway, I got a nice little pic of what I believe is mine, there were 3 white A3's, two of them sportbacks so that was easy to determine mine - 3 door with tinted windows :p



There has been some messing around with collection times, as I was due in it before x mas, so they registered my car, but now I'm picking it up just before the new year so I wanted to wait until the new year so it was a behind the scenes 15 plate but oh well, it's staying with me for 7+ years I doubt it will make much difference, still a 64 plate either way!



Sorry the pic is crappy, but I had to x30 zoom as it was so far away, it's the only white car in the pic so no need to circle the area :p

I'm collecting on Tuesday too but at 2pm! :) Signed a few things today, but not paying the rest until I collect the car and I've checked it over.

I've spent the past few days (except Christmas) preparing my old car for part-ex, the paint was terrible as I had neglected it for years. But I'm planning on looking after this one and hopefully keeping it for a good few years.

Won't see any pics from me for a while though, planning to take it on a few days out whilst I'm off work.

I did see those rs4's and drool actually.

I also said to my girlfriend why the hell is there a corsa in there. To which I have no idea, maybe it's trying to blend in and doing a bad job at doing so
 
Just to ask, when I pick my car up on Tuesday what MMI lead do I need for iPhone 5/6 (getting the 6 soon) is it the yellow one? I forgot.. And am useless reading though all the FAQs so if someone could remind me that'd be great :)

Yup it's the yellow one.
I would also ask for a USB one too as the darn A/S3 doesn't have a USB port unless you have the tech pack...

I'm so excited and nervous too! I live literally around the corner from the dealer, I can see part of the compound they keep the new cars in from my office (spare room) but it's partially covered by trees. I walked past today as the dealer asked me to come in to sign the registration documents, he wants to ensure we spend most of the time tomorrow with the car, and I caught a glimpse of her. They were in the process of removing some wrapping, I couldn't watch as I don't want to spoil seeing her fully for the first time, but it's got me very giddy! :D

Just sorted the 7 days free insurance and off out to clean the old car...again!

Haha thanks Sandra, I really hope not! I thought today would drag too, woke up at 5am and couldn't sleep - just thinking about what I'm going to do when I collect her. But, so far this morning has gone by fairly quickly - just keeping myself busy and trying not to think about it too much.

I think waiting for 2pm tomorrow will be the real killer though. I hinted at the dealer that I'm around ALL DAY tomorrow, he knows I live just around the corner too, so he said he would call if I can collect it earlier - fingers crossed!!

@J4MMYz Good luck with your collection today! It's going to be a slow day until collection time, trying to keep busy but I'm too excited and just want to go get it now.
 
Just got back from my first drive... I'm in love! Coming from a Kia Rio, the ride is so silky and the engine so quiet but I already know she's got enough power for me. I've barely opened her up and she already flies compared to the Kia.

The collection was brilliant, it was under a cover in the showroom, I had a lot of people, staff and customers, complimenting the car when they revealed her. It was a bit embarrassing but great to know everyone likes it too. I love the colour, it's beutiful.

I plan in giving her a clean and wax tomorrow, I was going to do it today but that went of the window :D So I'll post some pics and a better review tomorrow evening. :D :D

Glad your satisfied with the car, I've got to wait untill Monday to collect my A3. Seems to be taking an age.
Don't be shy with the pics when you get it waxed.

Glad you're enjoying the new car. All these collection stories are doing nothing to appease my impatience for mine - 3 months still to go yet! :D :D :D
 
Well, I picked it up yesterday, I'll get the pics up soon, hand over was great and I got quite a few free goodies thrown in and a full tank so i'm impressed, the car is great just a shame i've only done 20 miles in it and it's completely filthy -_-

My only thought to it, is the gear shifts seem quite notchy and sometimes hard to get in gear, I hope it will loosen up over time.

Oh thats weird, just looked at the mileage, apparently my car has done 77 miles and i've done barely 15 in it!

I hope whoever drove it didn't rag it, the MPG apparently was 7MPG I bet someone spanked it down the motorway. -_-

TBH I will be watching out for the mileage at collection time
 
Great looking car! I'm looking at a 3 door with similar spec too, early days though for me.

How are you finding the suspension day to day? I'm currently driving an s line A1 which feels too hard tbh (not a problem I was expecting to have at 22), so I've been looking into the options of SE v sport suspension.

Yeah good call actually BH. My current car had 5 on the clock when I drove it off the forecourt and the car before that 20 or so IMO anything above 30 is excessive.
