evening all

Im going to be doing a full respray on my 2005 a4 avant and have a few question recarding dismantling a few piece so i was wondering if anyone could help

First need to remove roof rails guessin headlining has to cum out so were do i even start with that bit.

Second the chrome trim around my doors im guessin the bottom parts are clipped on and the narrow piece above the windows is the same and wats the best way about removing these.

Also how to remove the bootlid there plastic covers everywere and im not sure how to get them off dont want to be breaking anything.

I think i now how to remove the mirrors but any advice wud be very much appreciated.

Also are the door wiring looms on plugs on the door shuts?

Cheers in advance for any info just dont want to break any bits of trim removing them

I was pleasantly surprised myself, it's on a long to do list. Swapping over to or painting mine black.
 
Chrome window surrounds are door cards off and drill rivets out. Sounds like a complete pain.

The Avant interior trim is a little more straight forward. On a B5 (assuming the process is similar) there's a Phillips screw on the underside of the interior handle. Remove this. Next you need to lever the clips off. Use a long handled screwdriver and work slowly around the edge of the interior trim, forcing each clip or pop rivet off. Don't haul it off or you'll crack it. With that off you can access the lock, etc.
 
Rite guys time has cum to startin strippin the car for respray.

I was wondering how the windscreen trims cum off the ones on the outside on the a pillars i now there not part of the windscreen seal so was wondering they just clipped on or sumthin

They're just clipped on. Lift gently without bending and you should be fine. Also the chrome surround can be removed by drilling the rivets out. Only issue you have is the remainder of the rivet being left in the quarter panel. So only remove if you have to. If it's a same colours respray then I would just mask them. Aslong as your preps upto scratch then you shouldn't have any issues.

Just lift it up away from the screen. Place both thumbs on the top and lift underneath with your 4 fingers on each hand. But do it gently. It doesn't take much but they're easily damaged so go steady.
