After 193k miles and the last 57k being mine, I think it's time to start thinking about selling it.

After having the clutch, all suspension arms, top end rebuild, new vacuum pump, s-line bumper fitted, votex rear, coilovers on then removed to standard again
It's got an apparent head gasket failure.

I found loads of oil in the water today, and although it blows really hot air on full no bother and dosent have any symptoms of a head gasket failure I just don't want to put anymore money in it.

The only Stanton it does have is the oil in the water.

I'm going to look into it and see if the head has went and if it has, it's going the journey.

The car also needs and abs sensor, possible cv joint, clutch will be due again soon.
Maybe need a rear shocker, plus whatever reason the oil is in the water

So not a good day really, so I've been looking at b8s and a5s

:( :( :(

Ah yeah, forgot about that, or even the oil cooler??
I did have an oil leak, around the oil cooler area

I was going to say to check the oil cooler out.

If you had the head rebuilt not that long ago then the HG should be fine really.

OIl cooler defo worth a check, don't do anything drastic just yet....
I keep going through stages, I washed it today and it looked mint in the sun
....then I seen the oil and wanted to get rid straight away..... So Indecisive lol

They really are lovely cars. Don't do anything drastic. Bought mine thinking it would be a bit of a shed and I can't believe just how much of a great car it's turned out to be. They are reliable and you can still work on them due to their age. A newer car can bring just as many problems- especially B7s and it will start affecting B8s too!

Do you not need an oil cooler?

I was guna text you so we could have a look sometime after the Xmas

Its not only an oil cooler, it will warm the oil as well from a cold start from the coolant, the connection here will help keep a more stable engine temperature as well..
just my 2p's worth..

I guess your right,
Oil coors are about £60 from euro, so arnt that bad, factor in coolant and oil, then time to do it and flush the coolant system probably just over £100
Might aswell put a new stat in it aswell.
