Hello all,

Please forgive my inactivity, I'm currently transitioning from the military to a government job and have had little to no time! but avast! I have some time off and some spare 'Walking around money' (I wish)

So, I own a 2010 A5 2.0 TFSI s.e @ 210bhp s/auto (25,500miles)

It's a fantastic car, I'm already talking with a few retro fitters her to fit some Gucci extras inside but I'm looking at adding some more HP, only problem is I know little next to nothing about modifying cars.

Should a man have something in the region 5,000 of the queens finest what could I do/change?
(5k is just a general number honestly and may not reflect what I will actually spend)

I would like to maintain a Wolf in sheep's clothing image. (I would also like it to howl like one)

Thank you guys and gals!

Josh.

P.S any a5 O.C/Audi sport/retrofitters members in the yeovil/somerset area?

Welcome back fella.

Lovely car, as for retrofitting, depends what's your liking/preference, so fire away, excuse the pun :)

Im currently stationed in Yeovilton! Wouldn't happen to be here also would you?

Ive also got a new VCDS should you ever require.
What sort of retro-fits are you thinking of?

Taff

I'm currently on a Med discharge after I.E.D strike, VCDS? (shows how much i know (verry little)

Retro fits:

Seats
Keyless
Satnav
LED headlights
Grill change
(possibly front/rear camera (to record crashes ect as i currently use a blackvue and im looking to sell it.)

I would also like to add as much horsepower as possible.

If you want to go 'LARGE' then exhaust, induction and map.

If you want to keep it 'Black Ops' then just the map and spend the rest on bling.

Hope you're ok after the discharge, utter respect for what you guys do for us all.:applaus:

With an SE you could also do with upgrading the suspension and perhaps brakes.

Ahh I'm very sorry to hear that mate.
Who were you serving with? I'm hoping to get on the Commando heli force when I've finished where I am! Get back to Norway and some cold weather training.

What rear lights do you currently have? I may be able to help you with the LED Facelift upgrades if your interested.

And VCDS (VAGCOM) is where you plug connect your laptop to access various hidden menus withing the cars various ECUs. Have a little search. You'll be suprised with what little mods you can do!

Thank you Swanny356, I appreciate a thank you but in honesty it's not needed friend, it was my choice as a child and one I've lately come to regret.

AduiB8, I was with 2 rifles as a sniper Herrick 15, Sounds like a good one to go for, I know (or at least have heard) the commandos have stopped allowing infantry attending their commando course so 'Army commandos' will become a rare bunch. Norway sounds like a blast honestly, I've a couple ex boot neck friends and they loved it..

Can you PM me more about the face lift and whats required? I know I'd need the computer changed and it's not as simple as swapping them out theres adapters to be used?

Cheers for the messages guys! appreciate it! I deffo' need some schooling on cars.

best bang for buck is a remap

Well that was an unfortunate turn of phrase. ;)

Anyway, back on topic, IMHO power first, looks second. As usual if you are increasing power you may want to improve handling in step with these changes - e.g. improved brakes/suspension etc. The 2.0TFSi is I believe reasonably amenable to tuning.

It's difficult to make changes that enhance the look of the car instead of looking like aftermarket tat... although of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)

There's an echo in here ! There's an echo in here !

Get a 57i induction kit, upgraded exhaust, bigger inter cooler and then map it.

With the £2k you have left, get some new wheels and upgrade the suspension.

Oh don't forget to spend £100 on some cleaning bits! :kissmyrings:

You don't need to change much on these as previous said, I think the exterior is awesome, not a fan of silly lows so personally wouldn't go coilovers, depending on budget say some bilstein shocks and a decent spring setup,

I'll be skipping all external changes bar the breaks discs so on and so on but the hight ride is fine ect. maybe take a look at a face lift and what not.

I'd like to increase the power of the engine though.

If you add more horses you've got to keep them reined in though.

To be honest on an SE if you add much more power you'll need to upgrade the suspension and brakes but I agree to not go mad and 'slam' it.

You should be able to get S5 brakes and suspension within your budget.

Good luck.

Oh forgot to say that we will of course expect a huge write up with lots of pictures :moa:

That's the plan, I'd like my car to look like a wolf in sheep's clothing, so I'll only change the breaks and ect once I've added more power, Some guys have said about changing the turbo so on and so forth, not really 100% on what good turbos are and the like.

OH no doubt! once I get the ball rolling I will start updating this thread with the required images ;) and maybe a couple videos on performance or what not.

Because I'll be owning this car for a long time I wan't to make it almost a project car to learn this n that and once I can afford it I will buy one off the shelf at a later date (a really really! later date) lol

Can anyone advise me on any 'Must have' interior changes? and what kind of litter extras do you have in your car, I have a spider phone holder which is awesome.

Hello Taff,

I'm new to this site and was wondering if you could help me, I've somehow stumbled onto this thread, I'm based at yeovilton I've an A3 2.0 TDI and need Vag com to enable me to unlock both doors at once. This make sense ?

Many Thanks

Chris,

What about de-chroming the outside and getting the windows tinted? Windows would only cost about £120 through global tints (they did mine)
