Hi All,
So in April this year, my employer decided to change us from paying for our own fuel and claiming back at the approved Mileage rates (45p/25p) to providing us with fuel cards. Therefore, I no longer have to pay upfront for my fuel costs.
I would like to know how this affects my Mileage Allowance Payments that need to be claimed from HMRC as I no longer have this paid to me by my employer and have to claim directly withHMRC.
The vehicle is a Private Vehicle, not a company car.
By my calculations of 23K business miles I would have been entitled to the following:
First 10,000 Miles @ 45p (10,000 x 0.45) £4,500
+
remaining 13,000 Miles @ 25p (13,000 x 0.25) £3,250
Total= £7,750
Has anyone else been in the same situation or know how this works, if it works any differently now that I am on a fuel card, but still using private vehicle for business mileage.
Many thanks,
J
