New 2015 RS3!!!

It's the top end of predicted range... and they've not announced pricing on options like buckets etc, so likely to end up comfortably over £50k with decent boxes ticked.

That price won't put people that lease their cars off having one, however for me to sink 25k + mine just to have "the latest shiny new thing" yeah right ......

I'd sooner keep the money in the bank and enjoy what I've got.

shocking price when you can lease a golf R for under £300 a month and have 95% of the performance

i doubt there will be any lease deals on these either as audi uk would rather not sell cars than offer them at sensible money, hence hardly any RS5s have been sold

The bonus is residuals of Audi's stay much higher as they don't let the leasing companies play their 'register a car for 6 months and sell it for 60% of RRP after they get the kickback from VW' game.
I recently did a lot of research into this area, and Audi are one of the very few with this stance. Nearly all the other manufacturers would rather push cars for the sake of it and wreck the new buyers equity (unless you are the switched on buyer that is not bothered by perfect spec that puts the effort in to find one of the 6 month old/300 mile on the clock ex-lease never been leased ones!).

First of all, there hasn't been too much for us 'exclusives' to talk about on this forum these last few months, partly because we are such a small and uniquely numbered club but equally because, well basically, we are still joined at the hip to our beloved RS3's.....and why wouldn't or shouldn't we.

They are simply the perfect ride for most owners....they are.......discreet (when they need to or we want them to be); sporty; fast; affordable running costs; practical for families (and don't just take my word for it, my 5 year old son has been saying RS3 for the last 3 years and even before he was saying "daddy" and "mummy"...i swear!); fuel economy (what....isn't 19.4mpg over 19.5k miles good?).....plus she starts first time, has nice rims, bears old school dotted eyelashes and a set of rear pipes that compared to her successor, make her look like a ford fiesta pop plus impersonating an XR2!

Therein lies the problem.....

Probably like most of you I have been sitting dormant these last few months, awaiting the release of our next descendant and generation of performance pedigree ;-)

Like most of us, ... owners, the natural thing to do is look for what our successor doesn't have - 400bhp plus, carbon fibre front wings, extreme flared arches.....and so on.... And to be fair, with most of these constructive points we are indeed correct.

I recon my baby (check out my signature) would fetch somewhere between £28-33k in today's market.....and who knows.... the new release might even hold prices?

Either way I recon I'm looking at the best part of £20k on top of my current baby for the newbie.....is it worth it?

For the power no.....for the looks no.....for the improved sat nav no.......I could go on.....

Add them all up and I still want to say NO.

But with an approx 10% improvement all round its got to be interesting.....infact these last few days, reading all the posts and feedback have started to make our descendant all the more intriguing.....appealing and possible the idol we expected. Anyone remember the 8P S3 vs its predecessor.......

Personally, I sort of like the new front end, and I am starting to adore the back end, i've already fallen in love with the interior assuming the addition of the quilted buckets, but the sides still just look too buckled...hhmm?!?

Anyway, I'm guesstimating here......but standard issue plus buckets, plus Bose or Harmon, plus tints, folding wing mirrors, sports zorst, interior lighting, etc amongst no doubt a few other needs then I guess I'm looking at about £48-49k......if I hit the £50k mark then psychologically I'm demented.....as my heart says find another 'belter' in the price bracket, but given my practical requirements (and circa 18mpg fr my 10 mile daily return journey) my head comes back to an RS3....probably the one I currently drive -......and I'm not buying her back three times he he..... thoughts???

Now seen enough to convince me to order in March next year. Surprised at 367bhp, I was expecting it to come in at 380. Still, Nardo Grey is on the option list, so happy with that! Also the sport exhaust, which will save spending a small fortune on a Milltek. I suspect carbon ceramic brakes will be silly money and glad mag ride is an option, as it was pretty pointless in my TTS and TTRS. Yep, can't wait to drive one and the dealer is primed to get my order in as soon as they can place it for me. I'm guessing, with the spec I'll go for, circa £44k. Not too bad, considering a new TTS comes out at £46k specced along similar lines. Gulp!

Sorry to break it to you, but the base price is going to be just shy of £45k, so with ~£2k for paint, and maybe another £1k for exhaust (not sure what the option prices are) and you're at £48k before any interior options. Or wheels.

Don't like it being a Sportback. Don't like how it's DSG only. Don't like the Wheel design. Don't like how it looks just like a S-Line TDI.

Ordered an S3 Saloon on Saturday. Looks far better, and don't think I'll notice not having the extra power. If I do, a simple remap will sort things out.

The 8p isn't so can't see the relevance of included images of it or are they just showing old vs new?

Which pics are you looking at? All look like 8V to me...?

Edit: on the mobile site they are all 8V, desktop has 8P and 8V as you say. Odd!

If it's £40k base I'm interested.

If it's £45k base it needs more thought.

But I am seriously interested in this car.

I sincerely hope that 'lip-goss' image has been photoshoped by someone evaluating a trial copy...

It's just gotta be me, John; and I don't mind that

I've seen much more attractive rear-ends than this. I'd show you the photos but out of respect for Sandra...

Overall the Mk 2 RS3 will be an ace machine, just like the ones we have already: and me and BLUEY 28-months on...

I've seen nothing yet that'll persuade me to spend 25K plus on this Mk 2 version

Had it an RS7 lump sat in the front end then I'd willingly throw 25K and MORE at it; but for now, it's me and my/our Mk 1 Audi RS3

And I just love BLUEY's 5-pot and the overall anonymity of the beast

I'd love to spend the cash (no pockets in shrouds) but not for this to replace what I/we have now.

BLUEY's mega safe with me/us for the time being...

BUT other's will, and I hope they enjoy, the Mk 2 Audi RS3...

I don't believe the new RS3 will have a base price as much as £45k. The price leak of 56600 euros was not the RS3 but the RSQ3, So i reckon somewhere in the region of £42k. My dealer estimates around that price as well. Regardless of the base price, I have a pre order deposit paid for and will have one landing in summer :)

It clearly states RS3 SPORTBACK.

I am well aware of what it DID state, which is why I think it was incorrect. The RSQ3 will be available to order from this month so we will find out soon enough.

The RSQ3 has been available for months. I've seen 3 on the road, my local dealer principle has been driving one since Sept and I drove one in Nov (apart from the engine it's crap BTW). So not sure how that announcement could have been announcing pricing for a model already released, or what RSQ3 is going to be re-made available for order this month!?

Yes, the RSQ3 has been given a facelift and has had an extra 30bhp added, have a look on the audi website.

But it's only been out 5 minutes! How can they facelift it already! Nutters!

You can't be well aware of what it DID say as you categorically state"The price leak of56600 euros was not the RS3 but the RSQ3".

Yeah, that was just my speculation. I thought that might have been fairly obvious for someone so observant as yourself.

on reflection i shall hold off on making my mind up until i have driven one

i like the idea of a drift mode :)

How can it be fairly obvious for someone so observant as myself when someone is writing one thing but thinking/meaning something completely different.

Looks nice in nardo!
