I live in Dubai, and I placed my order back in Nov for my new S3. The S3 will be released in the UAE in March. Luckily enough, i was able to place a special order for the car and will receive it around the same time that the first batch of cars roll into the country.

The Middle East base car comes with standard equipment (such as B&O, MMI Nav, Lighting Package etc)
My additional options that i specced included: (SS. Seats, Mono Pur, LED headlights, Black pack, Acc etc)

Now, on the sales agreement, under accessories it showed all the additional options i wanted specced but doest list any of the standard features anywhere on the SA.
I was concerned and I asked the sales agent at the dealership multiple times about this, and he reassured me that these standard features are not typically shown on the SA since they are standard. That made sense so i left it at that.

Today i got my build # (BW 04)and my dealership sent me a screenshot of the order. Under equipment it again only listed the additional options that i specced (see image). None of the standard features are listed anywhere. I assumed that the Build number should show everything im getting considering Audi have different "standard equipements" for different markets. Should i be worried? Id much rather try and rectify the situation now than wait to see what i get in 3 months time.

Has anyone that placed a special order had the same thing happen(only additional specced items shown on the build # and standard features left out)?

That is similar to us in Australia, we get a longer list of standard vs what the S3 is equipped with in the UK, so as long as the dealership ticks all the correct inclusions, it will be all good.

But once the car is built, you should be able to get the VIN from the dealership, with that, sign up to MyAudi website (Google the site), add your VIN, and change your location to the UK, you will be able to see the exact equipment list your car is built with, and now would be the time to worry if anything is missing of that list as it will mean the dealership stuffed up entering the build into the system.

I think you're worrying unduly and you should listen to what your dealer is telling you. Audi's factory know what the base standard is for your region, so they will build that plus the options you specified. There's little point in listing standard items, as they're, erm, standard. :)

Makes sense.
This whole wait 3-4 months for your car is killing me, I'd hate for them to have fudged up the order and have wait additional 3-4 months. I'd die.

Thanks for this, very informative.

It would be a long build sheet for the factory if it listed all standard equipment. There will be one internal group part number for your region that will break down into the full standard spec.

Don't worry.............They have been in the business a long time.

Don't worry, they only make a build mistake rarely. On mine they forgot the mag ride!

Ok so i finally got my VIN. I signed up for the my.audi, changed the location to the UK, and registered the car.
The image of the S3 pops up correctly, with the right color and black optics, but nowhere does it list my equipment list that the car is built with. Am i missing something? Does it take time to show up? I literally just got the VIN #. Do i need to register the veihcile ? ( i dont live in the UK, just using it to see my optional equipment)

Here is the screen shot of the Details and Equipment Tab

MyAudi will only show you a picture, it doesn't list the spec / options. Not really sure of what the point of MyAudi is, I was looking forward to seeing more when I got my VIN too.

When is it yours being delivered? Made a final decision on wheels yet?

This may or may not be possible. With the VIN number it is possible to get a printout from Audi AG called Car Data. This is a list of ALL the items being used to built that particular car. The one for my car lists 176 items plus things like sales type code, engine, transmission, final dive, interior trim and exterior paint codes over 5 pages. I obtained my copy through a US website that unfortunately no longer exists, but it may be should be possible for your dealer to print out one.

Well thats pretty useless then.
Dealer is saying another 7-8 weeks, im hoping its gonna be more like 6wks.
Yes i did, wooohoo. Buying them this weeknd too. Will post a zillion pics as soon as i get the car and put em on. My only issue still is tires. *(but i will say they are not BBS CH-R's unfortunately)

Not complete, no.

Some of the codes appear on the sticker on the inside of the service booklet, and the sticker on the inside of the rear 3/4 panel.

My complete listing (hundreds of items, as Dave said above) includes PR Code 0U0/L/KRQ

Which means the ECU is tuned to be able to take advantage of 98 RON fuel ;)

I'll try and explain how it works. I worked for forty years for a vehicle manufacturer.
To simplify the build process top level numbers are used. So at the factory there will be one number for a sports back S3 for instance this top number will be for a product for a geographical area. It will include next levels down for all the major assemblies that make up the top level and can be broken down step by step until every last nut and bolt is accounted for, it will be this system that orders parts for the assembly line, generates requirements from both external and internal suppliers, calculates line loadings and build dates too (plus much more). Anything that is not in this top level such as extra options will be detailed separately and those are the none standard items required for options that you see but it still will not show removals that affect standard configurations.

I've probably not explained it too well. But if the build sheet was to include everything it would be horrific and too wieldy to work. So all the standard bits are included but in lower levels.

The list for my car does includes similar codes at the top of the list, for example:
A51 Audi AG
A9D "Ambition" equipment
AQ0 Standard-production quality
AV0 Driving on the left
B09 Type approval Great Britain and Northern Ireland
B0N Component parts set, complying with
vehicle type for Great Britain, various
parts

But then goes on to detail a lot of the components and options, for example:
G04 Front shock absorption
G0R 6-speed automatic transmission for four-wheel drive vehicle
H8V Tires 225/45 R17 91Y
I8D Standard radio (Gen1)
IX2 Diesel engine
J2D Battery 380 A (68 Ah)
K8R Sportsback
KA2 With rear view camera system (type 2)

I assume most of these and all of the other (176) codes ensure that the computer system delivers the correct parts to the assembly line as required.

If you get teh app (iPhone dont know about Android) for myAudi it will give you the spec details...but doesnt have them all in it as it is missing B&O off of mines.

Bit of a waste of time if I'm honest.

This has changed!

When I got my VIN before delivery, back in November last year, the MyAudi site did indeed list the full spec of the car as I used it to check they'd got everything correct. Now it's missing so they've obviously removed this for some reason.

I thought it had! As I did recall people mentioning it.
Just checked and yes you get a full breakdown of you options on the mobile app. Which looks to be handy for setting up destinations before you get into the car.

Just downloaded the mobile app, and you're quite right, that does give you a full list of both the standard and the optional equipment. Seems crazy that the main site doesn't give this info though.

I think it's due to the fact that the information isn't complete, having checked over the mobile app versus my order form i'm missing B&O, LED headlights, Comfort pack (though some of it's packaged options are showing) and most likely other things, I gave up after finding 3 missing items.

Then again the app may be telling the truth and my S3 is missing a whole chunk of specified options, I will find out in March!

Which mobile app are you referring to? MyAudi IQ?

Mine is 'myAudi mobile' on android. Mine shows the full and correct spec, I'm assuming this is because it's build and delivered.

What Steph67 said above - it's available for Android and (for me) is a replica of the https://my.audi.com site, including full spec/options details. The mobile app also includes such stuff as traffic etc.

From what I remember, the car spec data didn't appear until a week or so after I'd picked it up.
