My friend has a 2.4 v6 cab with 70k miles on it. He is getting a CEL light every now and again. Clear the codes with vcds and it goes off until he does a few miles.

Codes are

P1136 fuel trim bank 1 system too lean

P1138 fuel trim bank 2 system too lean

Check the maf and that fine.

looking over the vaccume pipe I have noticed the air valve on the left is missing a pipe, also there is a T piece under the plastic plate that is missing a pipe too! Is there supposed to be a pipe joining these two.

pics
Left valve has a connector with no pipe

under the plastic these vaccume pipes are on there is another t piece with a missing pipe!

he has just bought the car and had a recent timing belt done on it.

cant remember what it comes up as on VCDS but it some sort of vacuum valve. The pipe underneath the cover is hissing so its definitely supposed to have a pipe connected but I don't know if it is supposed to connect onto this valve......

Something to do with the secondary air pump

That's the N75 valve so should be connected. Certainly isn't going to run right without that. I would just connect them up with some vacuum pipe.

cheers. connected them up and given it a 3 mile run and no CEL has come on! ill wait until he takes it for a proper drive until im 100% that its sorted. I will keep you all updated!

I'm bringing this back up as the engine management light came on again. I found this price of pipe in the airbox which I discovered fits onto the valve. Can someone please tell me where the pipe which runs under the air intake pipe that has AEM<>AEM connects to and possible get a photo for me. This is driving me mad haha

Hmm not really, still doesn't show where it connects to. I've got a feeling someone has messed with the vacuum system before and not put pipes back correctly. I've tried looking through photos on google to try and figure out the VAC system on it but none of them are clear enough. I basicly need photos of all the VAC pipe locations under the engine cover lol or a second 2.4 to compare against! May pay a trip to the breakers yard and see what's about.

N75 is boost pressure regulator as this car is a 2.4 v6 it has no turbo.

Take the part number off the valve and punch it into ebay and find out what the valve is/does then you might be able to figure it out.

I don't see any wires to the valve ergo is must be a check valve (1 way)
