If so pics ? :jump:

I've ordered one.
Not getting it until around October, so you'll have to wait for the pics I'm afraid.

Nice one mate, look forward to seeing it.

What colour, spec etc?

Fairly basic, although perfect for me - Prism silver, tints, titanium wheels, black interior.

Hi there guys. I have a c6 rs6,I did have a new c7 rs6 for a day as a hire car from my local Audi. I thought that to drive was pretty much the same. I have a saloon c6,and even tho the c7 is avant it felt a bit smaller inside. It was a Lovley car,it makes some great noises and was very quick,I would say a tiny bit quicker to 60, but on a motorway the v10 just does not stop going lol!

tempted to order one of these next year, struggling between a C7 RS6 or a B8 RS4 or even an RS5, i think i have some thinking to do :|

Not much in the way of thinking surely...RS 6 wins if you have the money.

Would be if I wasn't torn by the fact it's am estate, hence the RS5 and personally the RS4 makes much better noise, hence the dilemma

If you dont want an estate then its easy lol. RS5. but i could make do with an estate for either 4 or 6 tbh

Hi Guys, I am new to Audisport.

Had a C6 awesome car. C7 on order, which seems more composed and balanced from my test drive.

Delivery now seems the issue however, but thats a topic for another post.

It has indeed, amazing car, will get some pics posted as soon as get chance and when its not wet.

Overall impression is just amazing though.

Congratulations, was lucky enough to get to drive an RS6 Avant the other day... f*** me it was fast. The only thing with similar power I've driven was a V12 Vanquish S over a weekend once and that felt like it was attempting to kill you/you were grateful to have made it to your destination. The RS6 just put the power down and went, and was IMHO an amazing blend of super-car worrier/luxury cruiser.

What did you decide in the end? Horses for courses and all that but here's my tuppence worth after driving an RS4 and RS6 back to back. The RS4 (relatively speaking) was a disappointment coming from an S5. It just didn't feel any more special inside and wasn't as quick feeling as I had expected it would be. Don't get me wrong it made a lovely sound with a nice 'whump' when changing down but overall I was left underwhelmed by it. I went from coveting my neighbour's RS4 to thinking "actually, I'm happy enough in my S5".

The RS6 however... I'll grant you probably a bit more muted initially, but sweet bejesus did it shift and it felt much better from inside compared to the RS4. I can't recall if it had the sports exhaust optioned or not (think it did), but it made some great noises on the overrun and when shifting down through the gears manually.

I was left thinking I'd be disappointed with the RS4 but I really, really want an RS6 (or RS7) in my life at some point and I am currently sizing up how much I might be able to eBay my daughter for to get one... :whistle2:

Shrek,
Nice write up.
Interesting thoughts and something I can add too. I did a showcase last week and would conclude the following:

Drive but did not like, at all...; RSQ3, contradiction and not a real RS./ RS7 soft and sleepy, not like the 6 at all. it bored me, non engaging, but that did follow the RS4.

I also drove an RS4 and my own 6, by far the best cars of the day. The RS4, sounded great and I loved the engaged feel you get from that generation of car, the electronics are taking away the "feel" of these cars. To me the B8 felt like a light weight C6. So going into the RS7 after the RS4 was a shock.

I also drove a Toyota GT86 on the skid pan, which was the 3rd best car of the day!

Sadly did not get to give the ( audi UK ) RS6 a track test and was held back by a miserable guide in the RS4 who said to ease back at 100mph! I also was hoping for some time in an R8, but sadly a number of "Audi employees" seemed to forget there were customers there who might have wanted a go too!

I have a debadged 6 reg exhaust, which sits with my under the radar attempt. I am just at 850miles, so think I can start to let the Horses that live under the bonnet out to play properly this week!

Good luck with the eBay auction!

Ah, I suspect we were at the same event then - I'm assuming you were at Thruxton? If so @warren_S5 was there also, along with another chap whose name escapes me as I was in a rush at the end of the day and had to leave in a hurry to pick my daughter up from nursery.

The RS7, considering it has the same engine, certainly felt very different in character to the RS6, the extent of which surprised me. I think it was initially at least a little more docile. That said it still made some decent sounds when you provoked it. One odd thing I found with the RS7 was it was little skittish in the dynamic suspension setting and a bit at odds with the character of the car. RS6 would definitely be the first choice but I wouldn't rule out the 7, but I'd want to give it another go before committing to one over an RS6.

But who am I kidding... I'm not likely to sneak an RS anything past the wife anytime soon! :D

Not sure which group you were in (I was in the 'grey' group) but one of the Audi staff in our group got a strip torn off them (a little harshly perhaps) on the road drive for building a gap then nailing it to close it again.

I was in the red group, the group where two lads Bumped the whire v10 R8 in the back of the RS5 Cab, quite exciting!

A fun day, I just wanted a bit more track time, though I did rock up a bit late, but was told I had missed nothing. I would have happily missed the go carting for more track time!

Aaaah... so that's what happened to the R8! By the time we got to the road drive we were told we were down an R8 but they wouldn't say why. We guessed either bumped or broken down.

Agree it would have been better with more time on track, not sure if it was because it was the end of the day but I only got to experience the S3 (actually quite a tidy car I thought) and the RS4, which again did nothing on track to redeem itself in my eyes (again IMHO), although that may have been down to the driver who seemed grumpy as hell and wasn't keen on the RS4. The woman who was helmsmithing the S3 however was a great instructor who seemed to be enjoying what she was doing - even if she did have the heated seats set to "Inferno"!

The R8 in our group was pranged in the last group, it remained fully usable. The earlier event I am unclear about but do now thats why there where two RS7s in our group and out of the 3 cars we drove I drove that thing twice!

You obviously had the same miserable sod I had in the 4, he should not be doing an Audi day if he dislikes the customers and cars so much. The guy in the Q3 was also good and helpful too.

A good day that could have been great with a tad more thought about it i feel. Should I feedback or is that plain miserable and un grateful ?

I think the guy in the RS4 was a Thruxton employee rather than an Audi staff driver. I tried talking to him and he opened up a bit, said he had a Mini and was the best car he'd owned and reckoned he could hustle it around the track quicker than the RS4, Audi bias aside I'm not sure that's true on a track like Thruxton.

I don't think there's any harm in feeding it back, sure that they'd welcome constructive criticism...

Ive ordered one but been given a preliminary delivery date of May - not even got a build week yet. Oh well have to soldier on with the RS5!

i bought mine yesterday...
