Guys, out in the car tonight, next thing the coil light starts flashing so turned the car off and back on again now the EML light stays on and the coil light is flashing again.

Haven't noticed any drop in power, any ideas lads? I'm ****ting my self here :(

Aaron, can you get shaun to scan your car? See if it shows any fault codes. :) x

Get scanned ASAP as guessing game at
Moment. Post on rms as there is few Belfast fellas with vcds...

Aaron check out vcds map, I know there are a few in Ireland x

Cheers Sandra, I'm in foul form hate when my baby is sick haha.

I've put the post up on rms cheers ruari. Need to get the car seen to tomorrow

do you know anyone handy with VAS-PC/ ODIS or x431 Launch diagnostic tool Vag software versions just as good as vcds chap get them check DPF data on it too

What engine do you have? My EML on my previous A4 started coming on intermittently due to a faulty MAF sensor. I just ignored it for years and it was fine! Don't stress too much until you get a scan done :)

Do you have in indy close by? They tend to only charge ~35 for a scan instead of Audi's 90+VAT

No i meant Boyle, co. roscommon. irleland. I added it to the vcds map the other day.
Boydie is in greenisland, co. antrim

Liverpool would be quicker got than rosscommon lol

I plugged in my mates diagnostic kit and 3 codes came up.

P2112
P2111
P2111

Seems to be something with the turbo actuator

Sorry to hear this mate. If I was near you I would scan your car no probs. Hope you get it sorted.

Nope P2111 & P2112 Throttle actuator control (TAC) system - actuator stuck closed Throttle body, throttle valve tight/sticking

if you even found someone with above tools would get proper codes

Strange that it's not much slower and seems to be boosting ok. Little bit sluggish from a stand still but once through the gears shes ok

First code says they are stuck open, 2nd and 3rd say they are closed.

Is this a serious costly issue?

Lovely, in the mouth of Christmas too

Plus my fitting on top of that.

Really don't wana go near Audi for this

Take it to someone local to look at just to be 100% before throwing money at it

I'd rather bring it to a VW/Audi specialist to get the work carried out rather than a local garage

Well excuse me pmsl !! Sorry take it to whom you prefer ! lol get it looked at an a quotation for parts an labour :p

No no I didn't mean it in that way bud, I'm sorry, I'm just a bit wired to the moon this day, worrying about the car.

As you know Audis are expensive cars and expensive to repair so would rather have a specialist working on it

Lol I know just taking the ****
no dearer than any other car , parts don't have to come in VAG box's to be original replacements parts

So I found the problem, car needs a new throttle body/switch, the flaps are sticking inside, hense giving the stuck open, stuck closed fault codes.

On the off chance I took it to a local garage, a friend of a friend owns the garage and knew exactly what was wrong with the car when I explained things.

Only charging £20 to fit as he knows me. The part itself I have to get for him, he said in the range of £180-200

Checked on euro car parts and they are charging £182, same brand as the factory one in my car, Siemens VDO.

I was thinking of calling up Skoda parts in Belfast, on the off chance they might be a bit cheaper, at least than Audi anyway

Octavias use the same 2.0 CR engine as Audi/VW/SEAT

£140 way mister auto.co.uk free post;)

So I ended up getting the part from Audi, got a little bit of discount through the site. Pat, top man as usual sorted me out

Didn't manage to get it fitted until after work yesterday evening, which meant I had to drive to work in a sick car, down on power and the lights on the dials flashing away. Not a nice thing. DPF warning light reered its ugly head too.

Fitted the part last night, no warning lights now and power has been restored
