Been searching around and not getting a difinitive answer I'm after a decent set of 312mm discs are these ate ones any good only like the look of them for the grooves. Cheers in advance or if anyone could send me to a post that I've been unable to find cheers Ben, Image

Grooved usually make a noise and create more dust , however on ate's particular style I've no experience.

After many combinations , for road I favour plain big brake kits.

Having said that my 1.5 year old 312mm's are plain Pagid's.

''Should I spend money on a hacksaw, or a cutting disc to remove my arm.''

Yeah I'm with Daz I understand you would choose a cutting disc to cut your arm off as its faster but if you read it asks which are good 312mm discs not shall I buy 312mm discs mr jarod, ate it is then thank you Mr Nick

But why would you spend money on something that's not very good anyway.

You're not going to end up with a generic stage 1 car, given all the things you're asking and the things you are doing. So why do you want to spend good money on a set of discs which will only ever be ''barely'' able to stop the car in anger.

Even if a set of ATE discs and pads were only £150, it's still half the cost of a set of proper brakes.

Show us all a 'set' of proper brakes for £300

Welllll as it's going to be a decent (I hope) stage 2 set up for now and bigger turbo in future I did ask on a previous post about discs wether an s3 set up front and rear disc conversion would be adequate for the use of a stage 2 agu and you said yeah bang 312mm on you won't ever need anymore for a fast daily and possibly once or twice a year track use,

Sooo what can you suggest for me as a set of brakes I was wanting to keep the 16" wheels but will go 17 if your gonna suggest 323mm a off a lcr and Brembo 4 pots?

Hope that doesn't come across as me being funny as I'm not I just want a definitive answer to wether the brakes will be fine for a few years to come rather than finding their ***** and spending 400 pound odd a year later on new brake set up?

a set of 312 on a fwd A3 is going to be alot better than a set on an S3
I would be buying plain discs from ecp or something, its pads and fluid that matters

Yeah I've got ds2500 in mind to try for the first year then if there no good which I'm sure they will be for my usage then try ds3000. And got some motul rbf 660 brake fluid here waiting to go in with the brake swap of course braided lines aswell

I have done 312's on A3's. Twice.

They were terrible after the second stop. With decent discs, with decent pads. On both cars.

Have been looking for weeks for lcr brembos on eBay etc and none that are decent for less than 400 without discs, same on fb buying some from jb09 for more than 400, just saying :/
