Driving my a3 tdi earlier and I noticed that the left wiper arm seems to sit up really high every other stroke, and high when set to anything other than off.

I can actually see part of the visible windscreen underneath it.

This is not my pic but how it is sitting except mine is even higher up.

Is it possible to adjust this so it sits lower down, out of my field of vision below the windscreen on both "raised" and "lowered" settings (8p2+ raise and lower every other time to "avoid streaking").

If so, how?

Thanks

I have noticed this on mine. It's really annoying.

Pop the plastic cover off of the wiper bolt, then undo the 13mm nut by 2 turns only (no more), then with the palm of your hand lightly tap the wiper arm on the sprung joint till the wiper loosens off enough to be able to move it into a new position & re tighten the nut.

The reason for not fully undoing the nut is because the corrosion between the wiper arm and the wiper mech make it hard to remove, if you remove the wiper nut and pull on the wiper to remove, Sod's law says it'll just give way and you'll smack the bodywork with the arm & break it or chip the paintwork.

Audi have spent loads and loads of money developing the wiper system so that it doesn't sit in the same place when its resting so that it doesn't damage the wiper blade at the same point. its daft but true!

Well I moved mine today. Got it to sit at its low point and moved it a little lower but will keep a eye on it. Seems mad that whole damaging the blade haha.

It's something they all do as standard. Why mess with it? lol

So, if your driver's side front wing gets a ding, do you ding the other one to match? :undwech:

Mine does on auto. Switch auto off and it drops a couple of inches.
