What have you done today?

bought a new brake light switch, turns out it didnt work, however pulling the plunger out on the old one and refitted has sorted my problem. Re secured my number plate as it had pinged off on one corner and fitted a new S3 badge to the front from a 8P as i lost the "3" from my old one and couldnt find any 8L badges for under £50.

fitted new light ballasts and cleaed up the lens' however my lights are still *****

Snap I had to do my brake light switch today went out to go to work this morning and had a flat battery fort hmmm that's strange managed to bump start the car got to work and a mate pointed out I had no brake lights oh dear so pulled the old switch out had a look and a fiddle put it back and the brake lights stayed on so off down to Audi for a new switch fitted it job done.

ye the first time i refitted the switch the lights were permanently on. But i found out i fitted the switch wrong. you have to pull the plunger all the way out, depress the pedal with the engine running, push the switch in but DONT turn it 45. let the brake pedal up all the way then turn the switch 45. if you turn it before releasing the pedal it locks it which is why the lights were permanently on.

Fuel pump slowly dying so ordered a new one which will be this weekends task.

Let me know how easy it is to do as mine plays up in the morning some times it will purge and some times it won't so that is the next thing on my list to do.

No worries mate, there are a few how to guides kicking around the net but the pictures have all seemed to be deleted by the original poster so i have found one off the r32 forum which apparently is the same. Here is the link for it for your reference.

There is also one in the stickies on this forum but pics missing.

Went over the car with a fine tooth comb as I have a 300 mile trip tomorrow to see family before xmass this will be the longest journey the car has done since I have brought it so I hope it doesn't let me down fingers crossed.

Found a nail in my tyre yesterday but it was too late for any of the tyre places to still be open, so begrudgingly went to kwik fit today as it was the only place open, but declined them fixing it as they wanted £25 to repair a puncture! so I took it to the eastern Europeans for a wash instead and will get the tyre done tomorrow.

I had a puncture repair done not too long ago, and it came to 22 quid or something, I think that's the going rate these days.

I usually pay around a tenner anywhere else, so thought it was a bit steep.

Today i went to a local christmas meet/cruise for charity, we raised £652 for plymouths oncology, outpatients & chemo unit.
