Hi all

I have had on my S3 APY these two fault codes for cruise control

17977
P1569

I have replaced the clutch switch and it definatly isnt that...
A thought just came to mind as there was referance to measuring block and that bill from B5 said my MAF is reading about 15% lower than what it should. Could the MAF giving incorrect reading also throw these codes up as surely it will confuse the ECU and therefore pull up a fault code?

Next month im replacing the MAF and fuel pump (for seperate issues) hopefully this will knock 2 birds with 1 stone ...
Anyone had issues with cruise co trol whilst using a faulty MAF ?
Cheers

17977/P1569/005481 - Cruise Control Switch (E45): Implausible Signal
Possible Symptoms
  • Cruise Control not working
Possible Causes
  • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Engine Control Module (ECM) faulty/incomplete
  • Cruise Control Switch (E45) faulty
Possible Solutions
  • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Engine Control Module (ECM)
  • Check/Replace Cruise Control Switch (E45)
    • Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
Special Notes
  • If the Cruise Control System (CCS) was retrofitted, check the Wiring to the Engine Control Module (ECM). Depending on the Make, Model and Model Year the Hardware Signal can originate from one of the following Sources:
    • Cruise Control Switch (E45)
    • Steering Column Control Module (J527)
    • Central Electronics / Body Control Module (J519)

Think the above sums it up dude... wiring fault to the ECU or the cruise stalk itself

Quality not a bad price either i have had a look at the guide for retro fitting and also on partbase.org for the part number for the loom .... but this is ideal for the price thanks tuffty
