Apologies gents, first time on here! My V6 is blowing (on idle) white smoke. No loss of water, but slight oil loss. Also, engine light has come on (not blinking) but no loss of power and no rough idle or loss of mpg.
Also...it has started sounding like it sucks air for a slight moment when revved at idle. There is slight 'pause' when revved but nothing else. It is 150k miles (yikes) but the engine pulls so well and isn't noisy.
No residue that looks like head gasket, toning to make me think it is.
Could it be running lean/rich...sorry, no VAG codes as of yet.

Runs wonderfully, but the idling smoke is worrying...as is the engine light...

Thanks all.

The engine light is never a good sign, you would be best getting it scanned for fault codes first. It could be a simple sensor issue or more.

Thanks ruffrida, I agree I need to get it scanned and get the codes, just wondering if anyone has had the same before my Audi dealer takes many '000's from me to just 'look' at the car.

I see a lot of posts around this time of year about white smoke.etc
It may infact be steam from the condensation inside the exhaust, colder temperatures = steam more visible & lingers longer.

The engine light may just be an un-related sensor, as others have already mentioned.

Take a look at the VCDS map here and see if there is anyone local who can scan for you.
