8V VCDS Mods

I found the coding in a famous germn forum where it seem working fine

I have not tested yet the coding

but it seem that is working
I don't know if I can write link to another german MOTOR TALKing forum

One question: adaptation are the same, but it seems that STG3 coding is different: it seem that last long coding number are different (the one from german forum are: 30C202, while the one from you is 388608) which is the right one?
 
Mine is for S3, no Hold Assist.

It could be that 30C202 is for A3, with some other options?
 
The source from wich I've found the tip is for general purpose (I write you PM)
So I don't know.
One silly question: what happen if i write directly the long coding instead tick or untick byte?
Can I switch back if something goes wrong (I've fear of "0" masked byte)
Anyway it seems the tip is ok

OK. Tested but with no luck.
Just the time to insert the long coding number and VCDS (14.10.0) shows "Coding rejected - Error 31: Request out of range"
I own an A3 8VA Sportback 5 doors, 1.6 TDi with hold assist Sat/nav Basic Standard no touch or plus

I've actually managed to get TMPS working after seeing it in this forum
Went the other day for a drive without air in a wheel and warning came up after 2kms I'll try to get my coding up here when I'm home

TPMS Instructions:

Module 5F

Activate these next ones:
(56) vehicle_menu-operation-menu_display_rdk
(13) vehicle_function list BAP; extension-tite_pressure_system_0x07

Module 17 Instruments
Coding -> Long coding.
Byte 4 check bit 0

Module 03 ABS/Brakes
(dont know if necesary) security code 20103
Coding.
heres the dificult part
example of the original code
12F162A224250A720178060841CC2548462450806082A4F2004100080508
New code should look like these
12F162A224250A720178060841CC2548462450806082A4F2004100388508
Just changing those 2 numbers at the end will be all you need to change.
Then save the new code.

Resete MMI (Menu + OK + Right up button) press them it the order shown and release immidiately

Start engine, leave it 1 min, then turn off ignition.

Go to Menu -> Car -> Sistems -> Service y control -> (it should be there)

Tested on Spanish (lol) A3 Sportback 1.6 TDI from 2013

Please tell me how it went.

Hi Andy

She got a puncture in the last one and only said after driving it the 2 miles home 'I think there is something wrong with the car, the steering is heavy"

Well to be sincere I forgot about the one I choose but if there is an option to ACTIVATE just choose that one.

Its not activate or deactivate. theres are options to choose from that says suspension data bus and comfort data bus and many others. When you have the time, if its not too much to ask, can you please check what you have checked for that option. Thank you

number (14) is not in the list....
You dont have to touch that one.
Please read the instructions again and again as german words can be a bit confusing too.
 
TPMS looks to be working for me... another example of the coding:
Origional Code (note, shorter then the one in the example above)

Has anyone found a way of accessing the forward facing camera or headlight controls?

I am trying to tweak the dynamic range control functions.... They are slow to move the headlights up and down between low and high beam when cars are oncoming and they end up blinding people.

I've been in an A3 with the standard front high beam assist camera (not the bigger lane assist camera) without dynamic range control and they worked brilliantly..
 
Interestingly I've collected my car tonight (BW45) and noticed TPMS and the four ACC distance settings are there with no VCDS tweaking.
 
Over here in Spain during the last year all new cars have interior ilumination, TPMS and ACC included in the base car.
 
Thanks to Helifella for enabling Lap timer, rear lights on with DLR and increasing the number of flashes in comfort blinkers last night. All that's left to do is TPMS

I wasnt able to put the fan speed with auto mode on in the aircon
Seems that my module 08 isnt aircon.
I've got the Vag 12.12.0. Im i missing something?
 
I swear I saw a video of it working on an Audi.
Plus if you see post #427 and #428 you can see some people seem to made it.

For the rear lights with DRLs, does the side lights indicator come on with them? There are 2 methods of doing it - one with the indicator, one without. I currently have the indicator light there, but want to change to the one without, but there is some ambiguity in the instructions!
 
One illuminates the sidelights tell-tale on the LSM (Light Switch Module) ?

One method illuminates the tell-tale, the other doesn't.

If @cemerson tries the second method coding, he can confirm or deny this!

Ok then, can someone put a pic of his auto mode in day time, with the rear daylights with the 1rst step?
mine is now also at 2nd and it looks the same
