Ive been looking for a brake pad that will work for me ( Brembo set up 8L S3)
Ive tried most and yes i know nearly all will say DS2500 will do the job but i tried them and wasnt completely convinced,
I recently had a call from a mate who runs a mad as hell lancia delta ( never lets on the power but it can easy stay with proven 450 bhp cars) He has the same problems as me but runs AP calipers, He recently heard very good things about Carbotech Pads.
Has anybody heard of them? tried them? Its a new name on me,

I'll chirp in here, have ran carbotech XP8 on my previous car for over a year...absolutely amazing!

Have ran EBC yellow/red etc in the past and carbotechs are honestly in a different league, they were as good as a big brake upgrade! I could brake from 70mph and be at a standstill while my speedo was still sat at 30mph, haha. Also very good from cold as far as performance pads go.

For most people DS2500's will be enough. I'm in your camp though, i want more! You'd be amazed how much of a step it is running DS3000's over the 2500's.

This pleases me!

I have a set of Carbotech XP8's to drop into mine next :)

Carbotech are highly favoured on the Lancer Register. I had a set on my Evo 9 and they were awesome but very messy !

I would imagine that they would completely eat brake discs alive. Also car tarts beware, the dust will etch in to your alloys if not cleaned / sealed often.

Yeah, they can be noisy and are always very dusty I must say, this is where Iron-X is your friend for cleaning the wheels :D

Im well impressed with how well mine lasted too, 12 months about 10k miles including a couple of track days and they aren't even half worn through.

I was outbraking caterhams/exiges/GT-Rs at Blyton park on the back chicane with the XP8's, was tremendous :D

Afternoon chaps.

I've recently just worn out my ds3000 pads on my s3. Thought they were pretty impressive, although as always with ferrodo pads they gobbled the discs at a fair rate!

I'm thinking of trying some of these carbotech pads this time, what are people's thoughts on them? And what are they like for brake squeal compared to the ds3000's

Matt

I'm planning on getting some for my cayenne's before too long. Have heard similar to the above about dust but they do several different versions.
