Some of you may have seen a Cat C 2006 B7 RS4 on ebay recently in Daytona Grey.

Well I fancied a winter project so bought it and have sourced most of the parts needed to get it back on the road.

I was hoping someone on here may have known one of the previous owners?
It is now on its original KS06 KNC registration but was on N19VYA personal plate?

Anyone know anything about the car? Running MRC Stage 2

thanks

Dan

I was thinking of a similar thing what's the rule of thumb come selling time how less are they worth with them being Cat reg vehicles?

Thanks Dynamik - had a nosey on the Sytner site but I couldnt find the car

Manor13 - as I am keeping the car I wasn't really too fussed after my insurance company wasn't bothered. I have done several cat D cars with little problem. Have seen cat C RS4's going for 14-16k so I will be about break even for back on the road. Then the enjoyment is mine :)

Thanks, trying to do my sums and see if there's any profit to be made, its a cat d but its the resale value that's the worry.

I won't turn a profit on the car, will most likely break even with the resale value. Always wanted one of these cars and it was a cheaper way to get my hands on one :)

Get some pictures up once you've sorted it :thumbs up:

Hi mate

That is my old car, my old registration n19vya which is now on my Range Rover

Nothing happend to it when I had but the new owner crashed it and wrecked it lol, cat c damage so must of been serious I guess

Mines a CAT D (seats, steering wheel and gear knob theft) and I bought mine for well below the CAT D price which is around £5k less then none CAT C or D cars but in saying that they do seem to be going up and at worst the same.

CAT C or D should be around the £15k mark for a good one.

There is a huge difference between Cat C and D, anyone looking to buy either should make sure they're entirely aware of the implications and get a full record of the cause as well as the repairs.

If it is an older car then don't necessarily be put off by catagory C status, subject to doing a bit of homework.
For example, my insurance company told me it would cost £2500 to repair my Leon Cupra. In the end to get the work done to a fine standard and it cost me £700. Insurance needed to replace, so for instance a new bumper pre fitting was £500. It was only a small bump with no damage underneath other than a new steering column needed. Assessor said it was a no brainer to repair.

Cat C: The total sum of parts to repair damage exceeds the value of the car

Cat D: The total sum of parts is less than the value of the car but the overall claim exceeds the costs of the car (ie labour, hire car, legal costs)

Mine is a Cat D 2013... Headlight, bumper, wing, airbag ... Merely panel damage really
