My current Audi Concert CD player is playing up as keep getting CD error so i'm going to purchase a second hand Audi Concert Cd player off eBay, now i know this CD player will not come with the serial code, was wondering where the best place was to obtain the code (preferably for free if possible)

Pretty sure you can find the code with VCDS, so check out the VCDS map on here, should only cost you some beer money.

If not, Audi should be able to find it for you but will most likely cost you more

I hope that I'm wrong here, but I do know that - for example, you buy a secondhand VW radio etc, unless you can provide the details of the "mother car" it was originally fitted to, all you have is a collection of junk. Lots of on-line places sell CDs to cover and decode VW security numbers - they are telling lies as that application(s) only work for old school Phillips etc VW radios. What is needed to decode a VW radio is to read the code of the unit by using bespoke s/w and an IC clip. After that, the code read needs stuffed into another bit of s/w. Now, as Audi is slightly above VW in terms of technology, I'd expect their anti-theft features to be same or better.
