I know some of you won't like the idea of this but I snapped the wheel and airbag up very cheap for £50 so thought I'd give it a shot. SWCM is a highline on my car so I may swap in a MFSW as I now have the airbag. Changed the airbag slip ring over to a B7 unit and changed the airbag plug on the back to connect my b6 loom onto it, followed the guide on audi zine. Anyway I'm happy with it, feels nicer to drive with and looks more up to date than the b6 wheel.

No warning lights on the dash. Obviously can't test the airbags operation......

Are they any smaller than a b6 wheel??
It seems to be the same size but something about it makes it feel better in your hands, maybe just be the shape that is slightly different. Looks smaller due to the small airbag. Easy enoth swap though

I would love to do the B7 steering wheel mod, but the dual stage airbag issue puts me off......it's the not knowing if it will go off, but that may make me drive more slowly LOL

There are mixed reviews about them. People had had accidents and they have worked fine and people have had accidents and they have not worked but tbh I have also seen cars with standard airbags which havnt gone off in an accident, some airbags apparently expire after 10 - 15 years

This looks great Id love to do this to mine if I can find a wheel and air bag for the right price. I'd also like to do the flat bottom wheel but think they are quite pricy.

If I was todo this it would defo be a flat bottom or full function. Dont see the point in changing for a like to like

Reason I did it is because the B7 wheel looks more modern than the B6 wheel. Also it cost me £55 with the air bag and loom, B7 onwards air bags usually sell for £100+ for just the air bag. Now that I know it all fits ok I'm looking out for a MFSW without an air bag, not flat bottom though as they are usually RS4, TT wheels which are £300 + and don't think spending that amount on a steering wheel is worth it.
