Anyone know how much a first service would be for a 2.0 TDI?

I have been offered by the dealer who I'm buying the car from a free first service if I pick my new car up from them by the end of this month. Our original plan was to wait until January.

Who thinks this is a good deal?

The day I ordered my new A3 Saloon they told me the first service would be free. It seems to me that they could do better than that.

Why wait in the first place?
You are looking at somewhere in the region of £200 - £250.
If it were me I would bite there hand off for taking my car a couple of months early and getting paid for the privilege.

I expect the dealer needs a couple of completed sales to get to the next bonus level for the month

The car will be worth a bit more being 2015 registered.

You say that but blackwhite was offered it free anyway, is this normal?

Jan 2015 v Nov 2014 residuals difference will be marginal. Condition of car and mileage wil be much more important.

First service for free is not standard unless there is a dealer promotion at time of order

  • Just had first service £244.51 at Aberdeen Audi on 2.0 tdi which was free service from tunbridge wells audi where car was bought. I'm saying free but we ended up having to pay for it and are now fighting to get money back!

Pedro, Why are they making you pay for it?

Interesting, how come you got a free service from t.wells Audi? They are part of the same group as the dealer I'm using - Maidstone

Any more thoughts people?

Services aren't free. Unless you have a service plan (in which case you've paid for them), or the dealer has thrown in such an offer as a sweetener (in which case there was room in the monies to be able to offer it to you).

A first oil service is in the region of £200 to £240, an inspection service is in the region of £250 to £280.

If he wants you to take the car in December, that will help his sales figures for this month (a slow month) - so you have to decide if £220 is attractive enough for you to accept, of if you think you can hold out for more, or wait until January.

I think the general consensus is that the free service is worth taking and more worth while than waiting until January. I think it's going to be a free service and pick up next weekend :)

If it was me I would pick up the car as soon as possible regardless of waiting for any offer. That's just me! If they did offer a sweetener that's alright too. But I definetly wouldn't wait any longer than I had to.

Mine got it's first oil change on Friday at Newcastle Audi, the invoice they gave me, which is sent to Audi Finance apparently (paid for three services up front) was for £132.

If they're charging you £220-240 for it, but charge Audi £132 for it....... Where's that extra hundred quid coming from?

If I picked it up now I'd arrive with a bin bag and raid the freebie cupboard, mugs and pens always come in handy.
