Hi, I have recently got myself an A3 3.2 Quattro, noticed it has a fault which I cannot diagnose, if you hold the revs at about 2000 rpm it pulses (higher and lower) it does the same when you activate launch control, and also when your driving at low speed, you can feel the power dropping off etc. Seems to be only when the revs are low, has plenty of power higher up the range. Only code coming on vag com is 01072 - clutch positioner vacuum valve n183. Do you think this is related? Or could it be coil related, I'm unsure where to start.

Brill thanks very much. This is exactly what my issue is. Reading through, this software update I need... What do I say to audi? Or can a remap sort the issue out?
I think you need the audi fix, at least in the first instance.
There have been a number of revisions to the actual Tpi, but if you print out info in the first link, that should get you there.

hi guys, I spoke recently about this very same issue.
I ended up emailing my local audi dealer about having the software update done and was very specific in that i didn't want to pay for a diagnostic session as i know what the problem is, I got booked in and had the update done and it has fixed the issue completely.
The best part is they did the update completely FOC!

So, got in touch with audi, gave them all the details that where in that thread, they agreed it was relevant to my car, got it booked in tomo for the update only downside I gotta pay £63, hopefully it will be all sorted tomo.
I was going to suggest you go to derby audi and get it done for free, however that's a bit of a drive
