hi there first post on the forum apart from introducing myself in the new members section(pics of the car there also)
just a quick question...my engine code on the service book indicates bfb which I understand to be 163bhp but on the phone insuring the car Churchill is adamant its 190 bhp...(not had the chance to look at the engine as its dark by the time i get home) not that im worried about the power but should I inform them its a lower power car than on there books..and if it turns out to be 163 how would I go about proof to the insurer...cheers... richard

Welcome:)I would post ur question up in the insurance section as they would be able to give you the answer!

What's your reg? Send a pm if you don't want to show the rest of the forum and I'll let you know.

Yes inform them as your premium will most likely be a bit cheaper if it's got less power.

Not sure where insurance companies get their data from... They had mine down as a TDI Quattro Sport when its just FWD. Shame, would have been a nice surprise!

Not sure how reliable this source I'm using is but apparently 190's are all 2003+. S-line 190's are ace.

thanks for the replys guys...im still researching...not regarding power or spec now as Im certain its not 190 (single intercooler)..but looked on the quantum website and it only quotes one bfb engine code as being 2004 onwards with the uprated k03s turbo...mines a 2003 or am I missing something....cheers...richard
