Getting ready to go stage 2+ and just doing the final checks Ect. Has anyone fitted the pcv update kit to there s3 ? I know some people delete the pcv, which one would be best ? I've found this on awesome Gti

.
When I went stage one I had a slight whistling noise and my tuner said it sounds like it could be the pcv. Any help experiences would be great lads :)

I always thought just deleting it was best, but seen a few with the update kit. Be nice to know pros and cons of both!

Well looking at that the front pcv is just an original Audi part says Rev E
I thought the latest revision was R?
Also depending on the age of your car I thought they had a check valve already fitted in the rear pcv?
There's some cheap pcv deletes around now from £65
I've ordered this one which looks well thought out not to leak boost

Let us know how you get on with that. :)

I'm heading that way too (2+) and was thinking of doing a delete. I have not had any issues with my PCV and checked it. It has a date stamp of something12/12 so looks like mine has been replaced by the previous owner so in my case I'm going to wait to it plays up again and then delete it. Check yours as you might have a newer one than you think!

Bit confused on which version is the revised one :/ ? Anyone know for sure ?

I remember last time I checked on ETKA it was 06F 129 101 R

Just looked at mine and to the old one the new one has a small hole in the top of the piping.

Must be to let the crap out or something??

The number is stamped on the underside of the pcv.
Either a small mirror to check or remove it.

My pcv delete came today! That's only a few days from Turkey.
Just fitted it and considering I tried a Revo pcv delete before this one actually fits properly.
The double cap for the manifold fits well too.
Very impressed with it.

The PCV delete has been fitted to my S3 now for over a year and the main reason I deleted it was basically to remove the chance of the PCV failing. The delete kit does remove the necessity for catch cans though as the crankcase vapours are still present and will however be directed straight through the rear PCV valve which I call it. Does it run any better...........I dont believe so. Some may do, some may not (placebo effect possibly). I just have piece of mind now that I shall never have poor starting and rough idling problems because the valve is history as they say. (The S3 is still under warranty but that takes too long IF anything was to go wrong)

Out of interest... How do you check your PCV is working correctly? My idle seems okay but since fitting the Revo intake the revs drop after letting off the accelerator - sometimes to the point where it cuts out the engine. Niki at R-Tech mentioned it could be the PCV failing?

The only test really is to remove the dipstick or oil cap when ticking over and if the engine runs rough your pcv is ok in theory.
My pcv was the later style with the double check valve and I found the idle to be a little inconsistent especially when warm.
Since fitting the pcv delete the idle is steady as a rock and it does go better.
This proves my pcv was leaking to an extent although testing at idle it was fine.

That sounds easy, I'll give it a go. Thanks!

Was the PCV delete kit you got from the U.S. ok? Any customs charges? Thanks!

No customs charges £65 total.
Very pleased with the fit and the double fixing on the manifold seems a very good idea.

I think that whilst it does get rid of the awful PCV,it simply routes all the junk through the rear breathers, and into the turbo intake, and we all know where that ends up!

Anyhow....we'll get mine looked at soon and see if the VTA breather system deals with the problem for good.

Don't pay Awesome GTI's price. That's mental.

Even Retail prices at a MD is cheaper. Their replacement tube/pipe is unnecessary also.

For example they're £55 delivered from me. Includes seal.

Well just tested mine, running but removing the oil cap and it struggled to run. Engine was Kangarooing. Sign of it going/gone?

I did get this "with" the car but think it's the wrong one? When I googled the part number is said for a 1.8 TFSI?

Revision P apparently.

Ah ok, excellent. I'll just change it for good measure in due course.

Just done the PCV test... engine just sounded louder, didn't struggle to run at all :(
So I'll keep an eye out for a new one or the delete kit!
