 Hi guys im looking to get my S3 re-maped and i was in 2 minds of APR or Revo.

The APR dealer (Gwent VW) are a good bunch of guys had my clutch and flywheel done there but they dont have a rolling road or anything, were as the Revo dealer (Indigo-GT) have a 4 wheel roller etc so was wondering which is best to use and has anyone else used indigo-gt?

Its going to be a stage 2 map APR or Revo ??????

You have quite a wide choice of good software now, from APR,Revo,AMD,Shark and Unicorn, amongst others.

It will come down to locality, and other people's feedback, but my own feeling is to go with the one that has the RR available for setup, but in any case, the tuner should set up the software on the RR,and then with data logging on the real road.

That's how my guys set things up.

Yes the guy at indigo did mention the process,
take my car out for a drive, come back run diagnostics, then on the rollers make sure all performance wise all ok, then the software, back on the rollers then back out on the open road. Sounds like he knows his stuff.
They do all skylines, evo's etc think that's want hey specialise in.

It's booked in for the 30th of this month anyway now haha

Thats definitely the way to go I think,as opposed to just load the software, generic values and drive.

Well it's all booked in for the 30th so I can least get a figure once it's maped and then again when we all go to AmD on the 21st see how accurate they are haha 335bhp 1 and 380bhp another prob lol

AMDs rollers are pretty accurate,in as much as a RR can be,and I've not found them to be optimisitc.

More importantly,it's the trend figures you get from a known set of rollers, that gives you useful info each time you upgrade.

How's the remap? I'm in South Wales and looking into remaps for my A3 2 litre TFSI

Alrite mate, I went to Gwent VW after and had an APR remap. Read my other thread for ideas on how it went :(

Well can't say it didn't go well as the car is abit better but there where 1 or 2 issues that I kept my mouth shut about while I was there and I do have a slight problem with my car now but I'm hoping an upgraded fuel pump will sort it out. The guys down there are nice guys just talk a lot and a lot of #*#^. I do wish I had gone to indigo as they do it properly up there with the rollers ect and I prob wouldn't be in the predicament I'm in at the moment. But like people said to me it's what ever takes your fancey and on the day I changed my mind and went APR instead of Revo.

Hope you can get it sorted mate.

I'm just looking into things at the moment so thanks for letting me know about APR

where is this other thread? Had a look but cant find...

Trying to decide between GotBoost, Indigo or Gwentvw

You mentioned about the other thread here...

Yeh I just looking for a stage 1 remap. What happened with your APR remap?

Aww sorry, yes in ha a few problems but that was because I was going straight to stage 2+.

Being totaly honest can't fault Gwent Vw after I had my first encounter I wasn't to pleased but they did redeem them selves and fair play can't fault them and have helped me out quite a lot and looked after me also.

APR remap is also top notch as you can see from the figures I got.

Me personally after looking at indigo and then Gwent Vw I made the right choice.

so why weren't you pleased? bad customer service? poor remap?

any reason why you didnt like Indigo? I was originally trying to choose between GotBoost and Indigo before I heard about APR.

Ummm can't say bad service but stupid little errors, but they did redeem them selves and apologise, was more like me being fussy and having a few problems with my car just made it all worse haha.

Indigo looks a pretty **** hot place in the net but U Went up to investigate and there where a few young boys who work there and they where screwing an evo in the car park, there own car or customers car I don't know didn't stay to find out and just didn't like that.

mm hopefully it was a one off, the back and forth visits would outweigh the cheaper APR map over the REVO. Did they compensate you or anything?

Think I am more leaning towards GotBoost at this point.

Didn't compensate me but made it up with all the help etc! And a few bits repaired free of charge.

Never heared of Gotboost to be totaly honest. I have been back to GwentVW many times now, had new clutch and flywheel, updated PCV. And they have always looked after me, and my mate with his golf GTI and another mate with an RS3 can't fault them. But it's what you feel comfortable with really.

ah right, fair enough! just wish they had a rolling road...

Lion Garage Hay-On-Wye they do Oscarli maps the guy who makes oscarli maps does work for revo and has done work with apr recently and his maps are half the price. Very good at what they do ask for Steve he will talk you through anything that worries you or u want to know. He did my 3 S3's not a problem and my TTRS and a polo GTI I had very very professional and take great care with your car.
