Hi,

I'm looking at getting a replacement steering wheel, but I want to carry on using my existing airbag.
Does anybody know the part numbers what I can look out for? Maybe with and without multifunction controls?

My wheel is: 8P0 419 091 BJ TNA
No paddles
I guess that I can't just get any wheel that begins with 8P0 419 091 ?

Picture of the wheel:

Thanks

Id go for a multi function steering wheel, however you may need to get a new module as you have a 2005 a3 with no paddles (paddle steering wheel has the supported module for multi function)

any multi function wheel from an audi a6 a4 q7 ect will fit.
However some a3 steering wheel are slightly different as they have 2 extra nipple sort of things:

Thats a pic of my wheel, you can see the 2 extra nips i mentioned

you want one like:

Plenty on ebay around £60 - £100

will need new module as mentioned and some programming with VCDS

i think a non multi function wheel should be a straight fit, no module or vcds needed (dont hold me to that though :D)

That's exactly what I was wondering! Thanks, that's really helpful.
I was thinking about upgrading my control module etc at the same time, can start having a look around now.
Thanks :)

I'd be going for one with the thumb indents, a better shape and feel to it
And usually all have the ally surrounds on the controls

There all the same the paddles are behind the wheel do doesn't batter at all

Style wise is what your in to and wa you like bit they all fit the one

Not true mate
Some have studs etc
It depends on his airbag, the mounting cage on the rear of the airbags can differ
