Excuse my ignorance

From Audi:

"Visual accentuation of the knee pads and armrests in the doors, including stitching in the colour of the seat upholstery; the material of the interior elements underlines the high-grade character of the vehicle interior"

Basically an extended leather trim (although I've read it's not real leather) that looks like this.

I didn't know what it was at the time of ordering, but if ordering again I would get it. That said, there's nothing wrong with the standard interior (below).

Thanks -looks like I have it (except my stitching is red!)

I think the biggest difference is you get the leather effect armrests rather than plastic. I;ll soon find out when I pick mine up!

Does mono pur include the little dimpled holes in the steering wheel? from this picture it doesn't have it, whilst the above does

That's the S3 steering wheel. The S-line one is perforated.

This always annoys me, the RS models have perforated wheels, thats part of the RS badge. So the s-line has half perforated which is what I have now but I'm getting S3 which is all smooth leather.

Why the S line and not S3! Should have been other way round.

Never understand this!

Yep, but I'm not complaining as an S-line owner ;) - definitely one of the best looking and feeling steering wheels on any Audi model.

The new TT steering wheel I am sorry to say makes every other current Audi steering wheel look dated. Hope that gets added to the facelift

Agreed but they are always bringing new and better kit with technology rapidly improving so the next one will be out with an even better wheel! U cannot keep up! I don't imagine they would change it that much for a facelift but could be wrong

I have sline but find the perforated wheel a little rough. Would prefer the smoothness of full leather every time.

I sort of agree but looks wise I prefer perforated. I think full smooth can be a tad "slippy" at times

Think the A1 / A6 introduced the current Multi-function steering wheel which was a massive step up on the old one (which just had two buttons and volume controls) in 2010 which you see in the last gen TT and current R8. The A5/A4/Q5 all had the current Multi-function steering wheel added during their facelifts so would have thought if the new TT wheel is the new style then it will roll out on the new A4/Q7 and then face lifted models thereafter. Every 4 years seems to be the rule of thumb so not that often......

The new TT wheel I think does not do anything different to the one we have in the A3. It just looks better and has some nice metal details.

Aye possibly, who knows! I'm thinking more for the digital dash etc. I don't think they would go that far? Again I'm guessing here. When would u expect a facelift for A3?

Q4 2016 or early 2017 for A3 facelift I reckon - every 4 years usually. Whole model change every 7/8 years it appears with Audi. I'll be waiting to get the RS3 after the facelift.

Good example - A6 launched 2011 and face lift goes on sale early next year. A4 launched 2008, facelift 2012 and whole new model to be launched middle of next year with sales starting end of next year early 2016.

If the new Q7 and A4 get the TT steering wheel then it will go across the whole model range in time....

My A4 B8.5 had perforated steering wheel, I loved it, shame the S3 doesn't

I'd agree. 4 years on from original UK deliveries would give Sep 2016 for 3 door, and March 2017 for Sportback. Hope they put the twin turbo 2.0 Bi TDI engine in it.

Much prefer the A3's steering wheel to the perforated ones I've had in other Audis.

Don't think it looks that much different than the current A3 one.

I love my S-line wheel, its nice and fat and love the perforated parts

Still love the S3 wheel just will take while getting used to not having perforated bit!

Never noticed that! I like the RS4 style feel of preforated but it's not a huge issue. The new TT steering wheel looks too futuristic.

Agree with u, not the end of the world, u just wonder why they do it the other way round. Still looks good!

The TT is pretty cool I must admit, and ultimately where all models will be heading towards!
