Guys,
Just recently fitted a replacement ccm, fitted no worries and coded with vcds lite, but obviously couldn't match up my key with the lite version..
Anyway, the car the replacement ccm came out of was being broken, so I bought the keys off the guy as well which should be matched to the ccm.
Just tried the key, but it won't unlock or lock the car. The hazard switch illuminates so the ccm is responding to something, but it won't unlock no courtesy lights or nothing..
Is there something else in the ccm that makes it know its in a different car and not unlock??

Also, the new key part number is the same as mine, just with a "D" on the end, same frequency 433.92MHz, so am I right in saying both keys should be able to be paired with the replacement ccm (BD suffix).??

Cheers guys..

Don't you need to reprogram the keys? Something like one key in the igntion, turned to II, and then the other key in the drivers door lock and turn to lock pressing lock button?

I vaguely remember having to do this on my A8 to get the remote key to work after it lost sync.......

I didn't think you had to change keys with a ccm change

I thought it was all in the clocks ?

why did you change the ccm ?

I have read things like that, I've only got the remote half of the key with the buttons.
It must be recognising the key as the hazard switch lights up, ****** won't unlock though.

turn ignition on

press lock

press unlock

remove key and then see if it works

but iv never had to recode any keys on a ccm change

ccm works with the remote buttons on your key, the instruments deal with the immobilizer mate..

ccm was changed because it kept keeping the hazard switch illuminated, and wouldn't shut down, apart from that it worked perfectly, just nailed the battery in about 24hrs..

right then try what I put

that should get it working with your old remote

or should defo work with the matching remote to the ccm if coded correct

Cheers guys,

I've tried all of the above, or that I can with one key, but can't it to work still.
The hazard light switch will illuminate, but doors won't unlock or lock.

Is there a measuring block in vcds that will check the signal or commands coming from the remote??

Just went to the car and watched measuring block 007 in central convenience, the are two keys paired with it, I have key 1.
When I press the buttons on the key, key 1 is recognised, and the command number changes with each button, unlock 1, open boot 2, lock 3.
So the car is seeing the remote and commands but just ignoring it, please has someone got any clue as to what is going on??

quick question

when you noticed the hazard staying on did you replace the hazard switch ?

iv changed a few ccm in the past and never had any problems re syncing the keys to the car.

my reasons for the ccm replacement has always been water damage.

No hazard switch wasn't replaced, when it started playing up the car would randomly wake and illuminate the hazard switch for a while, fuses where pulled for each system one by one, the two fuses for central conv electronics were the culprits.
Don't know what went wrong with it, changed it and all is fine again, hazard switch goes out after its locked.
No water damage anywhere.
Original coding was 07147 (came from an Avant), I have changed this to 06859, how my original one was..
Tomorrow I'll try and set the coding back to 07147 and see if it makes a difference..

Well fingers crossed, will see in the morning...

Went out and plugged into the cars ccm, changed coding back to its original coding, exept the Avant bit, took keys out, and the remote the worked..
So, I've now set the coding to my original setting, plus selective unlocking and locking at 10mph, all seems well, although I haven't driven it yet.

After this I scanned for fault codes again and got 00955, key 1, 35-00 - -, cleared it and it stayed clear, never got this fault before on previous scans.
Anyone know this code, from what I can make out its maybe something to do with the key being pressed too many times while out of range??
