Hi all.

Looking into installing cruise control into my 10 plate A5 3.0 TDI S Line. Where is the best place online to buy the stock etc? Can't really see one on ebay...

There's a few site sponsors who will supply and fit mate, maybe pm a couple and see if they will supply only, if you intend to D.I.Y.

as above a few site sponsors will sort it you.

don't just go buying any from the bay as you need a certain one for your car not all fit.

I wanted cruise and contacted one of these site sponsors and had no response. So I have booked my 2012 A5 Cab into Audi to have it fitted at a total cost of £373.00. I don't know all the ins and outs, but researching on the net led me to Audi as it turns out that if you have a software update applied to your car after the cruise is fitted by a non Audi 3rd party means their settings can be overwritten if you subsequently take your car into Audi and they update the software. This means you have no CC and would have to ask the 3rd party to re-code your car for CC again. Apparently Audi's system has to be updated so it's aware you have CC fitted and software updates won't put it back to your original non CC state. I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I found after a limited amount of tme googling. Why don't they fit it as standard when it is on a Golf SE??!!

Because if you want a Golf it's a fairly competitive market so they give it to you. If you want an Audi they're view is you're prepared to pay, so you will pay (for everything)! Miracle they don't make us pay for the air in the cabin, but don't mention it to them or they might.
 
I noticed that if you have it fitted as a factory option it's £215, so having it fitted afterwards is a more expensive option at £373.00 too. Ouch!!
When you look through the Golf specs you're right , you do get much more as standard on the different trim levels, shame the Golf isn't as sexy as the A5 in Scuba Blue though :)
 
A5 2008, i tried to add cruise control today but failed ... i install everything, did the codings in vcdc, but for some reason it doesn't work ... no green light in dash. Any ideeas?

Did you manage to sort this Cristian? I got the cruise kit sat here, haven’t fitted yet, bought it with new Squibb ring etc. Just in case it’s needed.
