I'm looking to upgrade the rear of my A4 1.9 TDI Sport & want to change the lower bumper to have twin exhaust pipes, one either side. I was wondering If this part would fit into the existing upper part of the bumper?
I'm not very mechanical minded but love the car & would love to add the twin pipes. Cheers

The car in the top pic is a b7 which to the best of my knowledge has completely different body panels including bumpers so don't see how it could fit both. A b6 avants had twin cutouts the one that springs to mind is the 1.8t. The exhaust from that also fits straight onto out 1.9tdi as long as you match quattro/fwd with your car

Uploadfromtaptalk1407689302827 I understand they are different bumper shapes, but I was just looking at this lower part which unbolts from the main bumper.

And yes you can just change the lower valance. However, I'm not sure if there are any difference between Avant and Saloon lower valances. Someone else will be able to confirm that bit bud.

That's all I wanted mate was changed the lower valance with twin, I'll stick to the avant.

I've found one in Scotland but I need to persuade the bloke to post it as he's against it.

Yeah & a small ding in it but nothing major, should look new when it's done & hopefully it fits with no problem! Lol

I've seen a few 2nd hand on fleebay or a place in Walsall will build one from scratch for £399.

The standard one has small tailpipes which look lost in the bumper,I'd go for the built from scratch one. Mine has a Milltek one with 4" tailpipes which look better.

If you get a standard one you could get bigger tailpipes welded on to it which is a cheaper. I had RS4 oval ones on it when it had standard system fitted.

SOAB wish I'd have seen that before driving upto Scotland on Saturday, I'd have had that in a heartbeat :(

It's from an s4 avant same yearView attachment 38061

Thats not an S4 rear bumper its a GMBH bumper off a 1.8T. I have done the same conversion but i spent nearly 3 years looking for an Avant GMBH bumper with the cut outs. Heres mine, i removed the rear silencers completely and added a couple of Miltek tail pipes (think they were from a Golf R32 system).

and a quick sound clip with out the silencers

The full bumper will fit no problem, but I believe the standard bumpers need modifying to get the sport valances to fit.

Looks nice, good neat system. Does it resonate in the cabin at all? I would like to have my rear silencers deleted and keep the tail pipes bent down to keep it OEM look. I don't have the cut outs in the bumper. I'm just worrried about the booming in the cabin.

No resonance at all in the cabin and only very little booming under load at slow speeds at all other times you won't notice any difference. I've been told that from the outside the turbo whistle can be heard a lot more.

Hmmmm, my turbo whistles as it is. So it may sound a little odd until I can get the turbo replaced. Although it pulls like a train and doesn't smoke etc.....just a bit of the 'old grey whistle test' :)

Did you get a heat shield for the other side? As I've only got one on the existing left hand side not the right where the new one will be built Tuesday.

It's ok I managed to get the GMBH lower & fitted just the exhaust to do Tuesday.
