Ko3s swapped on agu :) happy!!

Hi guys finally finished swappn the turbo on my agu to a ko3s.. All i can say is wow! Sounds like a jet on boost!

Couple of info needed..

1. Is it overboosting? As it Seems a hell of alot quicker n spins on boost in 2ns gear!!

2. As it also has a decat/dp from toyosport im sure its over fueling alot!! Is it safe for a few months to drive until i get money o save for a sfs TIP and a remap?

If you've not had the mapping changed, it won't be any different.

Unless something is, or your old turbo was, broken.
 
I got the same results as you my old turbo was sh&t and when I put the k03s on I noticed a big difference as soon as the boost comes on I have the larger tip and turbo back exhaust already. But as Jardos says I had mine down to my old turbo being f&@ked that or I'm imagining this is faster lol take the n75 plug out so it runs low boost about 5-7 psi I think to save it blowing before a remap. Mine still feel as though it boost too much with it unplugged but only shows 8psi on my boost guage.
 
Ohh right.... Because im sure its allot quiker and sounds crazy!! U can hear the turbo boost loud!!

Ill try drivn it with n75 off see if it feels any better befre remap as yh i dnt want it overboostn n doing the turbo in

So guys its normal right n its safe to drve on boost for w couple months?
 
Okay guys i now have a issue :/
Was boosting it to show ny mate the didference and on full throttle at aroubd 5k revs it starts to splutter? Like hold back? Or it jerks n stops boosting further likke a real bad misfire?

Is this bcos it needs mapping?

Yes but only after it did this... I havnt full throttled it since then as i dont want anything going bang :/

Ill prob give it a try on boost tomorw as the n75 is unplugged.. See if it still does this..

Its fine hittn boost upto a certain stage and then itll suddenly hold back n jerk...
Weird as it was absolutly fine the other day
 
I had a similar problem and it was a boost leak. Maybe check all your pipes after the turbo?

Thats was my initial thought but couldnt see any loose pipes.. But it was dark and only saw what i could with my iphone light lol

Ill check all the pipes in morning and will get back to you..

Mine does that aswell sometimes splutters and holds back but the car isn't mapped for a k03s and 12psi actuator wel in. Y case anyway. U shudnt be driving around on full boost/throttle anyway till you get a remap that's why everyone says *take it easy* lol.

Hi guys update on this... I fitted a boost gauge to the car to see what boost im running after ko3s swap on agu....

1. Its running 15psi on full throttle
2. It runs 15psi even with n75 unplugged!!

Im not boosting it at all otherwise.. Jus did to check boost and i was right all along it is over boosting ;/

Why is it boosting so high when its not been remapped? Does swapping to ko3s cause tht much of a boost spike?? And why does it still boost so high with n75 disconnected?

Help appreciated guys..

That's the actuator pressure, turn the nut a bit to adjust it
 
Lol, stock ecu tune goes into limp mode when the maf exceeds 160g/s, a ko3 does that at about 14psi.
A ko3s will hit that at even less boost as they flow more CFM.

You must have an uprated actuator, stock actuator is set at about 5psi.

You just keep going into limp mode. I'd stop beating on the car if I were you!

What ko3s did you put on??
 
Mine with a 12psi beach buggy uprated actuator and k03s with n75 plugged in gets 10psi and with it off 8psi the actuator and it isn't. Append yet either must have a lot of load on your did you set it correct? I'm a newbie to be fair so havnt really a clue lol.
 
I took this ko3s of my mates aum a3 1.8t.. It was a reconditioned one my mate said so maybe where he got it from had it pre set on actuator..

But thanks for the info.. Must be actuator settings..

Im takn it east anyway till remap ina couple months.
