I got mine from Hid direct i believe.
Yes ive got the 8p audi a3. Im selling my headlights and hid kit very soon. It comes with error cancellers and all thats needed to make it work

Those are very cheap so i wouldnt gamble on them.

I'm looking these for my mate's A3, not my car I have an A4. He wants HIDs so I'm trying to find a set that will work.
I agree the ones in my link are cheap but they work perfectly in my 09 A4.
Surely if they work in my car then they would work in his?

Not 100%.. could gamble on buying them but it can cause the known issues.

The wiper issue is known byproduct on 8P's with aftermarket hid kits, so don't risk this or it'll be £300 to rectify.
Some kits claim to not blow but do & then some don't blow, so your choice.

I think if I bought a kit from eBay that specifically stated on the advert that it would not blow the wipers, and it turned out that they did, I'd definily be making sure they paid to get my car fixed
Good luck with that fella, its highly unlikely they would pay for any repairs.

They will not even pay for the HID's shipping cost back to them.
Forget about an ebay seller paying for any extra cost.
Most you will get is the money back if you open a claim in PayPal.
In my opinion all this hassle is not worth it.
Believe me, we know about this issue.
I receive broken wiper motors to be repaired every single week.

Hid Direct sell the kits and assure they will not blow - unsure on warrenty terms.
Tru8ps has now sold x5 lots to A3 8P owners as far as im aware (please correct me if wrong) that havnt blown the motor.
Also you can find these wiper motors relativly cheap on the internet, so if worst came to it you could replace the motor on a budget.

Without sounding negative there are many many many topics on this and the end result is usually a heated discussion around other things than the origional question.
Directly answering the question yes you will need to by pass the canbus.
