Hey guys so got Revo Stage 2+ loaded onto the car last night. Seems to be a lot more torque from the limited amount I have driven it since. Didn't really wanna boot it on the way home as there was quite a lot of booting involved during the set up of the map, and have a short Journey into work.

In regards to the set up I am very impressed with my Revo dealer they spent their time logging the car and adjusting the settings and it seems to drive really well. Don't have any power figures or anything as there wasn't a rolling road, but I think drivability is probably more important. Athough a RR figure would still be good just to know where I am at.

They set me up with settings of Boost 8, timing 5 and fuel 4. I don't think I have heard of fuel at setting 4 before, but there was a lot of logging done so I would say its OK at that?

Glad you're enjoying it.

It should improve a little over a few days as it adapts, but the midrange torque is definitely improved at Stg2+,even if peak power may not be.

Your signature needs updating :D
" [Soon to be revo Stage 2+] "
I found with less boost on my ED 30 I got more bhp but I guess they all need fine tuning to erk out the best performance.

Nice.
stage2+ takes the car to another level.
Runing B8T5F7 at the moment and it feels like it has more power than original settings from my tuner B9T4F9.
If you want to make most of it you need to do logs and trydifferent settings.

Do you have a manual gearbox, if so is your clutch still standard, how is it holding up? (what is your mileage ) mine has just turned 30k and hope my clutch will be ok when i get to stage 2+ for a while at least, i don t intend to be launching it from stand still. (Cant wait to get there the only thing i have on mine that is not standard at the moment is my revo cai, soon to be exhaust then hpfp then straight to 2+)

Dave
Cant wait to get mapped

Thanks for the input guys. Seem to be the same as most of you except for the fuel setting.

Yeah mate still on standard clutch and its holding up fine. Although just had stage 2+ done so I will let you know in 6 months time. Yeah see neither do I which is why I think my clutch has lasted me so well. As soon as its starts slipping il get it out and a better one in, but no point spending the money before I need to.

So what milage you on now with the standard clutch, gives me hope i can get upto 2+ without funds ready for clutch which means done sooner, i bet your loving it big time.

Sorry mate, im on 39k at the moment! Yeah well I havnt really driven it that much yet believe it or not! Kinda want the excitement to last LOL.

I would say maybe my next mod will be the intercooler. Although dunno whether to look at handling again now, as I want to upgrade the ARBs.

Yep thats where i want to look at once got the power mods out the way. I reckon kw v1 and front and rear h&r anti-roll bars will be spot on for me.

Yeah sounds good mate. I plan to go for the H&Rs as well.
Can i ask what difference its made fitting the gfb dv+ and was it a worth while mod also was your v3 hard to set up.

The DV+ makes the car hold boost better and it just feels better when driving hard. Some other users have done logging etc to show this is the case. And to be honest I used the recommended settings when installing my V3s and as yet I have not changed them. But if I ever wanted to I can, and may do very soon as they are bordering on too firm (although not bouncy). Also its great knowing they are stainless steel.

Well played Trev, another convert you're gonna love it. I'm still smiling driving mine slowly just knowing its there at one squeeze of the pedal!!

My Stage 2+ journey is one step forwards two steps back. beginning to think the car just hates me.

I dont have a flat spot either than I am aware of and I dont have it fitted. I will still probably end up fitting it though lol.

I didn't notice any issues at Stg2+,although a few people have noticed drops in rail pressure and thus got benefits from the RS4 valve, but at Stg3 or above,it's a must.

If it holds the rail at a higher pressure it must do something, and for 50 quid a cheap mod. Probably placebo effect in action lol

So how's the clutch holding out, are you being extra gentle or giving it the full can of beans. So can't wait for mine to be done.

Yep its fine so far! Nope I am not being extra gentle, the opposite in fact! So I will just wait and see how it holds out. Hopefully for a long time lol!

If you search you'll find loads of reviews.

In short there is little to choose between any of the major tuners at this level and all give good results.

You should find a reliable good tuner local to you and go with them.

The SPS device allows you some control over boost timing and fuelling but unless you know what you are doing that's best left alone.

Thanx Alex this is my 1st S3 so wanna get the best out of it

Did ya go for a Linear map btw as ive heard good and bad about standard and linear...
Some say Linear makes the car feel less powerful with the way it accelerates and some say its still as powerful but more controllable? Some say it puts less strain on the engine with less initial boost.
Where as standard, some say you actually feel like your in a rocket with the acceleration and the linear option felt flat and boring! ??
I need to make a decision on what i fancy tbh... another can of worms hey lol

I always thought the linear map was just the throttle setting so if u press the peddle down 1/4 way you get 25% throttle and so on, where as the standard throttle setting is more like 50% throttle from pressing it down 1/4 , makes it feel quicker as you are only tickling the peddle and getting alot more throttle.

You are correct.

The linear map feels more like the stock map imo, well it did on my mates GTi anyway. Prefer the standard stage 1 map :D

Need to get mine sorted asap!
