The car was still running, but I know it was a HARD impact, I asked the marshall if it was ok to limp back? He said it was smoking, so turn it off, and that was it! I couldn't see the external damage, but as gutted as I am, I knew the risks when I headed onto the track, I drive it hard, that's what it's built for, and I wouldn't drive it anywhere as hard out on the public road! :racer:

I don't know how you can keep looking at those photos It makes me wince and I wasn't in the car. I know you had the sideways moment at Castle Combe as your avatar for a while, One of your and the cars finest moments. If you want this one let me know. You had to be there Karl,it was awful to see it on track then the friking wait while they were in the medical centre being checked out.

What a shame. I was also fore warned about a number of near misses happening at this event to, a freind was nearly rear ended by an over zeaolus driver for instance.

It's quite simple Karl, I'm ready to go on track again, I have no fear of driving quick out on track, something I can't do out on the open road, I know the difference and the margins, and going out on track, I know the risks.

I built this car to drive quick, and I don't deny I drive the nuts out of it when I'm on it, but I'm never on the limit on the road, quite the opposite actually, I generally don't bother racing anyone on the road, because I know it's not worth it.

Sentiment wise, yes, shes gone(almost), and I had fun for the last 13 years and 40k miles, but I live to fight another day, and will most probably come back stronger next time round, hopefully soon. Chris, the passenger, has already booked the shotgun seat again for Castle Combe the crazy idiot!.... he was in the car when I got it sideways aswell!!!

Thanks for the clip, I've already had it sent to me in the same format, but thanks for posting it.
