My S3

Haha only just seen this bud! Nice one! Great times!
I went 5th October for the gti day and was a right blast
I had 4 runs as didnt wana **** my slipping clutch anymore as had to drive back home lol!
Fastest run was 13.9 bud!
Saying that I did launch at about 2k revs which isn't exactly a quick start due to worrying my clutch will blow!
I now have a new Loba clutch fitted and boy is she more responsive now!
I'm just bedding her in atm and I'll still bed her in for another couple months, then I'll start having some fun! :)
4-5k rpm at the lights for example!
Getting stage 2+ next month woooohooo

Haha you'll enjoy that . I only got my best runs on last two . Massively ruined the first two ! Haha . And with everything sorted now with power I'm going I'll get into the 12s. You'll love stage 2+ it's the icing on the cake ...until you want a bigger cake .... Apr gtx turbo kit next .... maybe :p

Stage 2+ is where I draw the line lol!
My 2nd run I missed 3rd *** lol thought I'd ****** my car up as u do but it was fine lol
If I launch at 5k revs I should get in the 12s easier I reckon with stage 2+

I said that at stage 1 and nothing else ! Bigger turbo Is needed . Makes the car feel comfortable and we all know that's ours and everyone priority ;)

Na, stage 2+ for me then I'm just gona enjoy her and drive her like she should be driven and hopefully see the odd Porsche and Ferrari here and there ;-)

I said at first that the car was going to stay stock and get moved on at 2yrs or less, like the previous ones.

Then Stg1,and then the road to ruin......the car has felt better every time, but I still say that Stg2+ is the best overall value for money, where Stg3 and 4 are money pits.

I would have thought stage 1 was best value for money with a massive increase over standard and yet only £300-£400.
Stage 2+ is doubled again but costs roughly £2000.

But wtf do I know... I haven't even got stage 2+ yet lol...

Next plans for the car ready for the summer but i need ideas!!!?? i know next thing for power improvement would be a bigger turbo so staying away from that idea for now but an reasonable priced interior, exterior engine modifications that people suggest would be great (keeping it a subtle as subtle can be! lol)

Look forward to your thoughts!

Alex

I have the brakes, and the exhaust - Haldex controller is a good shout! WMI?

I would feel bad getting a rs3 grill as i like to keep everything as standard as possible as its a black edition :)

WMI = Water Meth Injection, most say its a good and cheap mod. RS3 grill is a pretty cool mod tbh :). Come on I know you want it :D

I'm planning on fitting this for my missus as she claims breakfast is an issue for her in the mornings haha!

Ill have a look into it - sounds cool aswell ;) - Hmmmm its a very hard decision , I do really like them and swaying towards the idea! anywhere good you can recommend to get them from!?

hahaha! good substitute for the arm rest i must admit ;) and who needs the awkward to get at cup holder aye!

Missed the boat on that! wheels i will keep the same as they are black edition - would kick myself as i spent so long finding one!

My thoughts so far:

WMI
Silicone black hoses
RS3 Grill ----- maybe

have about 1500 to play with!

After some conversations and to be completed in next couple months (hopefully) will be the TTE 420 Hybrid Turbo along with WMI kit

If there is any extra cash ill add full silicone hose kit!

You'll definetely not regret the TTE-420 upgrade with the APR stage 2+ map.

I'm speaking from experience!!.. Bang for buck.....best big power mod i've ever done to a car.

I spoke to mark today (broadster) hear you got it back today !? Roll on tomorrow and that phone call !

Yeah, had it booked in 9-5 for a full days mapping, Had it back by 12pm.

Did around 6 logging runs and found that the APR map suited the bill perfectly. Everything was bang on and it was making consistent figures accross the board.

We had no idea the APR map would work on it... total surprise to see the results as they came up on screen.

So much so that Campbell that co-owns Ecotune, is buying my stock K04 off me to send to Simon for the same treatment to fit on his Golf R.

He has an Owens development hybrid on his R..... One look at the figures and was a combination of annoyed (at the comparison between my car and his) and pretty excited about the results..

Couldn't have worked out better and great to see good figures from it !

Very excited to get one asap !

I will have to buy the Apr map as running Amd atm but well worth it :D

Cheers for the feedback !

Just about to place my order in the next 30 mins for the following :

1. TTE420 Turbo
2. CTS Turbo charge pipe
3. CTS Turbo outlet pipe
4. OEM RS4 fuel valve
5. Turbo oil feed and return pipes and associated seals and gaskets
6. Snow Performance Stage 2 WMI kit with uprated soleniod and dual nozzle

I'm sure this all may look familiar Doogie!!

Thanks to Brodster (Mark) for sourcing everything and advice!

Apoligies! haha - come join the fun of seeing your bank account balance drop!

Well need something to keep those 8vs on their toes when they start with tuning ;)

Sounds about right ha.. remember you will need to change the oil and coolant too. Who will be doing the turbo swap??

Annoyingly I will ! Just had the service done with oil change and coolant !

Getting AmD to do the fit but will most likely switch to Apr map even though they said they can do the map upgrade for 200 so not entirely sure what to do yet !

Asked them for second week of Feb for the fit when the parts should arrive ! :)

I was the same, Had my car serviced around 500 miles before I had to do it all again for the turbo..

Totally upto you on what map you go for. APR has now been proven to be compatible and has produced excellent results but i'm sure AMD could work with the hardware as well and achieve good figures too.

Sure for the outcome I will manage to live with it :p

Mark was saying be good to see what AmD can do to see what the comparisons are.. so may well do that .Plus already have stage 2 + software with the car so if I don't need an upgrade and mine works with it likes yours did with Apr then happy days !

watching with interest mate as i'm going down the same route too, what clutch are you using?

all the best with the install...

I have DSG so wont be using a different clutch - think DSG is at its complete limit with this install!?

Yes should be fine but dq250 limit is 550Nm I think so account for this or the gearbox could go into limp mode if there is too much torque going through it unless you get extra dsg oil cooling system fitted.

You would benefit from a DSG remap to get some additional clutch clamping power - box and rods are good for 600Nm

Have the DSG map so hoping everything ordered can be fitted and ready to go!?
